Judicial report: SIXTY TWENTY, COOL ROYALE and RUN RILEY RUN were all withdrawn from the final of the maiden distance final prior to the Box Draw being made due to suffering from diarrhoea with Veterinary Certificates being presented.

Race 1 | The Brownzy Sports Bar Sprint - C4 - 318 | DOLLY SCRAMBLE was last to jump. The favourite HONG KONG LOUIE was keen to get away from the rail and in doing so checked itself and tightened AUSTIN WILD and CHA CHA CHAINSAW. HONG KONG LOUIE was himself tightened as VALIDICTION crossed the rail into the bend and lost more ground. CHA CHA CHAINSAW was subject to a post race veterinary check that revealed a grazed pad with a ten day stand down recommended. |
Race 2 | Trophies Plus Sprint - C0 - 318 | EXCITING GIRL, WHATA LADY and SHIFTY BIT NIFTY were all slow to begin. TOP CAT ran into the back of SAND QUEEN into the bend and lost ground. |
Race 3 | Greyhounds North Maiden Distance Series Final - C0df - 603 | SMASH BANG WIN was the last to leave the boxes. DECADENT checked outwards off JOHN DEED into the first bend and continued to run wide into the first bend. |
Race 4 | McGhie Plumbing Stakes - C0 - 527 | The favourite EDWARD CULLEN was last to jump but made ground throughout the event to record an impressive win. TATA SAFARI received a couple of checks in the early stages and ran wide around the first bend losing ground. STRAPPED FORCASH appeared to be slightly lame after the race but after cooling down a veterinary check could find no abnormalities. |
Race 5 | Sel's TAB Mangere Stakes - C1/2 - 527 | SURFING AL was the last to jump. SURFING AL ran inwards into the first bend coming together with MISS JETSUN for a stride with BIT OF VISION receiving tightening and losing ground as a result. |
Race 6 | Reel-Fishin.com Sprint - C2 - 318 | THRILLING RAY was slow to jump and then hit the running rail free of interference into the bend losing many lengths. A post race veterinary check revealed no injury. The favourite SO DEEP attempted to get to the outside in the back straight and in doing so came together with GEMZ on a couple of occasions losing momentum. He ran on fairly in the home straight when in the clear. When questioned in regards to the effort of SO DEEP trainer Glennis Farrell confirmed to Stewards that the dog is not suited to inside draws. |
Race 7 | $50,000 Terminating Pick6 Stakes - C1 - 527 | IMAGINATION and PAMPEST were the last to jump with CHERRY TREE LANE also being a shade dilatory as she came up with the lids. The favourite HUSTLER jumped awkwardly and then was tightened into the first bend and then further hampered soon after as SHIRONA came off the fence. BE DELICIOUS was also tightened in this incident. HUSTLER was never in contention thereafter. |
Race 8 | Carols TABS Sprint - C1 - 318 | A combination of FLYING WHALE running outwards and HIT DA NOS running inwards ensured that PRIMED TO DASH and HOTWAX were deprived of racing room with both runners losing considerable ground into the bend. |
Race 9 | Magness Benrow Stakes - C4/5 - 527 | KILARA'S FANCY angle inwards soon after the jump causing UNION STEAM, AIN'T NO SAINT, PRINCESS SHILOH and BEATRIX KIDDO all to be checked and lose ground. PRINCESS SHILOH shifted outwards on the first bend pushing UNION STEAM wider around that bend. |
Race 10 | Auckland Vending Sprint - C5 - 318 | NATURAL JOURNEY was the last to jump finishing well for third. Favourite BENGINEER came together with TRUE INTENTIONS into the bend as he attempted to get to the outside with both dogs losing ground. BENGINEER recovered to finish a close fifth. GLOW BELLE DOLL and CAWBOURNE MADZ came together into the bend when towards the rear losing more ground. |
Race 11 | Bethells Farmstay for Dogs on Facebook Sprint - C3 - 318 | THRILLING JAFFA rolled outwards slightly on the home turn coming into contact with FIVE KAY KAT with both dogs losing momentum. CORPORAL JONES fell at the lure with a post race veterinary check revealing no injury. |
Race 12 | Jack's Wholesale Meats Sprint - C5 - 318 | The favourite MATANUSKA was bumped for a stride by PUNK SCOOTER at the jump and settled midfield. He was then forced wide around the bend when making his run finishing well for a close fourth. |
