Health and Safety comment:

Judicial report: An application was received from Trainer J T McInerney under Rule 80.7 for the cancellation of endorsments under Rule 80.6 in respect of the greyhounds CAWBOURNE MOFF and SPEEDY LEESHELLE. Stewards confirmed that both greyhounds had competed in ten races without further incident and the endorsments were accordingly cancelled.

Race 1	Super Pets Sprint - C3 - 295	When the dogs were removed from the kennels prior to the start of the race RUN FOR LLEYTON was found to be suffering from soreness to the right hock and was declared a late scratching by the Veterinarian. Acting under Rule 72.9 HOMEBUSH BRUCE was permitted to box first. Shortly after the start KNOX and HOMEBUSH BRUCE came together checking TRILOGY SERIES to the rear.
Race 2	Little Brown Jug Sprint - C4 - 295	Over the early stages AKON STAR ran out checking FAST TEDDY and FLASH TRAV. Racing into the first bend FLASH TRAV ran with some difficulty and shifted wider on the track. FAST TEDDY shifted down the track racing into the first bend making contact with the rail. Stewards requested a post race veterinary examination of FLASH TRAV which revealed the dog to be favouring its left rear leg that was previously injured. Trainer John Holdem advised that he would trial FLASH TRAV prior to resuming. Following the race FAST TEDDY was examined by the vet after having cooled down and was found to be suffering from a laceration to the upper left thigh that required suturing.
Race 3	Thursday Place Pick Dash - C3 - 295	Approaching the first bend WANDY CHICK shifted up the track checking FLAT BATTERY and GEORGIE LEE. FLAT BATTERY and GEORGIE LEE came together when racing at the rear of the field entering the home straight.
Race 4	www.greyhoundtips.co.nz Stakes - C2 - 520	OHOKA ZOE abd MOLLY PATRON were a stride slow to jump. BOTANY ANN and ANOTHER BREEZE bumped racing into the first bend. Shortly after HOMEBUSH FRASER and ANOTHER BREEZE came together with RONRAY CRUISER having to check off the heels of ANOTHER BREEZE.
Race 5	$5000 Bonus Quaddie Dash - C5 - 295	STARBURST STUMPY stumbled badly over the early stages after jumping to the lead. CAWBOURNE OCKY and ANY BAD HABITS came together after the start. Shortly after CAWBOURNE OCKY shifted down the track while simultaneously BIGTIME SURVIVOR shifted out checking STARBURST STUMPY to the rear. Racing into the first bend BIGTIME SURVIVOR again ran out checking STARBURST STUMPY. CAWBOURNE OCKY and KNOW NEED bumped rounding the bend when racing midfield. Stewards requested a veterinary examination of STARBURST STUMPY which revealed no injury.
Race 6	Active Electrical Christchurch Ltd Stakes - C3/4 - 520	KNOW WHICH was a late scratching after exiting the kennelling block in an unwell condition. A veterinary examination revealed the dog to be suffering from head tremours. RINGOS COLT was slow to jump. SOFIAS GIRL lost several lengths racing into the first bend after checking off the heels of GUTTER BLACK which shifted down the track. MIXED GRILL checked off the heels of GRACE HILL when being crossed approaching the final bend.
Race 7	Canteen-Supporting Young Kiwis Living With Cancer Dash - C5 - 295	Racing into the first bend CAWBOURNE MOFF shifted down the track placing PURE AND SPECIAL and KNOW RIVAL in restricted room. As a result CAWBOURNE MOFF lost several lengths checking JACKPOT JACKIE and CAWBOURNE LORNA. CAWBOURNE LORNA and JACKPOT JACKIE came together when racing at the rear of the field entering the home straight.
Race 8	Buy Sell & Exchange Stakes - C3 - 520	HERE EYE AM was slow to leave the boxes. After the start JAG YOU ARE shifted up the track resulting in MORIARTY and BRASSED OFF coming together. Shortly after CAWBOURNE CATCH shifted down the track checking MORIARTY and BRASSED OFF. Approaching the first bend MORIARTY checked off the heels of CAWBOURNE CATCH. CAWBOURNE CATCH shifted down the track racing into the first bend resulting in HERE EYE AM having to check off heels. After the race MORIARTY showed lameness in the left hind leg but recovered quickly and was checked by the veterinary surgeon with no injury evident and no stand down recommended.
Race 9	Bill's Bar & Bistro Stakes - C5 - 520	MAINLAND STAR and KNOW TRUTH came together over the early stages. BADJA BALE and FIFTH EDITION bumped approaching the first bend. SUGAR PLUM was checked by EMILY BAXTER racing into the first bend resulting in FIFTH EDITION and CYNTHIA BAXTER being forced wide.
Race 10	Borat At Stud Garden City Classic - R/A - 520	HONKING HORNS and KNOW PEACE bumped shortly after the start.
Race 11	www.racingdogs.co.nz Sprint - C5 - 295	The start was delayed by two minutes at the request of the TAB. DEMOGRAPHIC, CHEETAH WOODS and RUMOUR TISM were all slow to begin. Racing into the first bend OBSESSED shifted down the track causing KNOW JOY and COOL JORDIE to be checked. Rounding the bend DEMOGRAPHIC shifted out sharply checking REAL CLEVER which fell. RUMOUR TISM was also checked in the incident. The left hind bandage on DEMOGRAPHIC fell to the track rounding the bend. Stewards requested a veterinary examination of REAL CLEVER which revealed no abnormalities.
Race 12	Speight's Dash - C4 - 295	PAREORA DOLL and ALBIES LAD bumped approaching the first bend. FREDDIE BAXTER, SAFE AND SECURE and PAREORA DOLL bumped rounding the bend. MOJAVE MICK and EXCITING KYLE briefly made contact entering the home straight.
