Race 1 | Allied Work Force 0800 Labour C0 - C0 - 305 | SAMMY RUBY began awkwardly losing three lengths but she recovered well to finish in 3rd place. ELLAVA SCRAP was handy until racing around the bend where she began to drift back through the field . She was then struck by CLUAIN MEALA and fell and CALM EXPRESS and HOMEBUSH JOEL were unable to avoid ELLAVA SCRAP and both suffered severe interferance. HOMEBUSH JOEL then shifted in and collided with LISSADELL JASPER and they both lost ground and finished in the rear group. ELLAVA SCRAP was examined by the Vet and stood down for 7 days with tricep and pectineus muscle pain. |
Race 2 | Harrison Hire Master C0 - C0 - 305 | RUSTY SAM was very slow to begin losing six lengths and although making up a lot of ground, he still finished in 2nd last place. MANAIA FLYER received a slight check on the first corner losing two lengths. |
Race 3 | Guthrie Bowron C1 - C1 - 520 | ANYTIIME WILL DO shifted in at the start and collided with HI JEAN and lost three lengths and he stayed back throughout to finish in last place. KIT HAKA checked off the back of UPAHUT CINDY on the first bend and lost two lengths. KIT HAKA shifted in going into the final bend and checked LOTTO PROFIT who lost two lengths. LOTTO PROFIT and UPAHUT CINDY collided in the home straight and UPAHUT CINDY lost three lengths. |
Race 4 | Crombie Lockwood (NZ) Ltd C1 - C1 - 305 | One of the better supported runners HOMEBUSH SARGE was slow to begin and he then raced onto the back of HOMEBUSH BREE on the first corner and they both lost four lengths and all chance of a first four placing. |
Race 5 | Morrie Gibbons Signs C1 - C1 - 305 | ANOTHER SPARKY began very awkwardly losing ground and settled at the rear. He then raced wide covering extra ground on the bend but finished quite well for 4th placing. TINY TITCH was awkwardly placed between runners on the first corner and she lost four lengths and stayed back to finish in last place. |

Race 7 | Mickey's Super Liquor C1 - C1 - 305 | This race was delayed 4 minutes due to a torrential downpour. SHRECKLES and REECE LIGHTNING led on the bend but they collided and both lost ground with REECE LIGHTNING being the most affected and she lost several lengths. Approaching the straight entrance SLATERS MATE galloped on the back of CLASSY HOLLY who went back and out causing checks to CHASIN CROWS and REECE LIGHTNING and they lost all chance. |
Race 8 | Wanganui Security C1D - SPECAd - 645 | This race was started 2 minutes late after the earlier delay. One of the favourites SLICE OF MAGIC was slow to begin and soon after he checked off the heels of OKUKU STAR and shifted out onto SHARKIES DREAM and they both lost ground. SLICE OF MAGIC then checked off the back of HOMEBUSH DIP going into the bend with just under a circuit to run and he lost further ground and all chance of a first four placing after receiving the two checks. |
Race 9 | Media Works C1 - C1 - 305 | NUTS FOR SURE was the slowest to begin losing two lengths and she was then forced wide over extra ground on the bend when CAWBOURNE SMUDGE shifted out. HOMEBUSH NELSON was checked on the first corner losing several lengths and he finished in last place. |
Race 10 | Keenan Concrete C2 - C2 - 520 | GREYWINDS KOBY was the slowest to begin and raced wide into the first bend but kept up a strong run to go on and win the race. ANOTHER BREEZE shifted in going to the first corner and inconvenienced JOE BANNER and THRILLING LEWIS who both lost ground. JOE BANNER was checked and lost two lengths going into the final bend when MIRAGE ROYALE who had been racing in a handy position, drifted back through the field into the racing line of JOE BANNER. |
Race 11 | Gary Ross Decorator C1 - C1 - 305 | JIMMY HAKA was slow to begin and he stayed back throughout to finish in last place. |
Race 12 | Broad Roofing Services C2 - C2 - 305 | HOMEBUSH JODIE was slow to begin and she stayed at the rear throughout the race. HOMEBUSH HELEN was handy going to the first corner but was tightened between FLYING FLYNN and HOMEBUSH BAZIL and went back onto ASH VEGAS with both dogs losing ground. HOMEBUSH HELEN then ran on to finish in 4th place but ASH VEGAS stayed back to finish in 2nd last place. |
