Judicial report: Trainers Freeman / Turnwald were fined $ 100-00 under Rule 69.11 when MAGICATE was presented 1.6 kilograms up in weight from its last start weight.

Race 1 Dimocks of Hawera C0 - C0 - 305 COOL THIEF and SILVEREEN jostled together for several strides in the run to the first corner and both dogs lost ground. COOL THIEF recovered to make up ground for 4th place but SILVEREEN stayed back and finished in last place. IN OR OUT checked off the back of DUBLIN BAY on the first corner and went back and out forcing NELLY FLAHERTY wide on the bend and into the straight.
Race 2 Easter Supporters Maiden C0 - C0 - 520 One of the favourites PEZULA BOY was very slow to begin losing four lengths and he stayed back to finish in 2nd last place. HOMEBUSH HELEN shifted in soon after the start and checked MICKEY MACHALL and KELBY HAKA who both lost a little ground. MICKEY MACHALL then shifted in on the first corner and checked KELBY HAKA who lost three lengths.
Race 3 Eltham Vet Group C1 - C1 - 305 HOMEBUSH CINDY was checked and fell soon after the start and she was examined by the Vet and stood down for 5 days with a spike wound. JENNINGS, HOMEBUSH JEM and KATIE HAKA collided soon after the start and lost ground with HOMEBUSH JEM being the most affected and she went back to last but did make up ground to finish in 5th place.
Race 4 Super Liquor Hawera C1 - C1 - 520 The favourite HANDBRAKE HARRY was slow to begin and settled at the rear. He then checked over the heels of SMASH BANG WIN on the first corner and soon after, he checked off the back of REGAL DANCER losing further ground and never recovered and finished in last place.
Race 5 Egmont Refuse & Recycling Hawera C2 - C2 - 305 CHASIN CROWS began awkwardly losing three lengths and he stayed back to finish in last place. SOUTHERN EIGHTY was handy enough but wide going into the bend but was checked back to last and finished near the rear.
Race 6 United Travel New Plymouth C2 - C2 - 520 ANOTHER BREEZE shifted in soon after the start and checked COOL ROYALE and GREYWINDS KOBY who both lost ground. ANOTHER BREEZE continued to move in and caued checks to CATCH A PENNIE, CANDY HAKA and THRILLING GRIZZ who went back and out and this resulted in COOL ROYALE and GREYWINDS KOBY being pushed out wide going into the first bend and they stayed back to finish at the rear.
Race 7 Empire Hotel Stratford C3 - C3 - 305 SEDGEBROOK LEE was slow to begin losing three lengths. HOMEBUSH LENNY was checked and fell on the first corner and he was examined by the Vet and found to have a bleeding dew claw but no stand down was required. SEDGEBROOK LEE who was following was checked and lost three lengths in the incident.
Race 8 Local TAB & Sports Bar Taranaki Cup C5 - C5 - 520 I'M READY was slow to begin losing three lengths but he did make up ground to finish in 4th place. GUY BAXTER was checked back to last on the final bend and finished in that position.
Race 9 Railway Hotel Hawera C4/5 - C4/5 - 305 HOMEBUSH DIGBY began awkwardly losing five lengths and all chance. ASHBY ELLY, MATES UNITE and DADDY LOWE jostled together for several strides and MATES UNITE eventually had to check back from a tight situation. BOTANY ANGELA checked off the heels of DADDY LOWE and lost ground on the first corner.
Race 10 R D 1 Hawera C3/4 - C3/4 - 520 EL KILDA and RYBENBROOK FLASH bumped together on the first turn and EL KILDA lost three lengths. EL KILDA then drifted back through the field from there and finished a long last and he was examined by the Vet and cleared of injury. THREE INCH NAIL was also examined by the Vet and stood down for 7 days with a spike wound.
Race 11 Carols TAB Auckland C4/5 - C4/5 - 305 CIAO FOR NOW was slow to begin losing two lengths. MOLLY DARLING shifted in soon after the start and BOTANY KELLY checked over its heels and settled towards the rear.
Race 12 Pak N Save Hawera C4 - C4 - 305 CHINESE GIRL shifted in from the start and caused jostling and checks to RUN FOR LLEYTON, ROYAL PARDON, GROOVY BANDIT, SEDGEBROOK ELITE and PALOMINE who all lost varying amounts of ground with GROOVY BANDIT being the most affected. CHINESE GIRL was away well to be handy going into the bend but made contact with RUN FOR LLEYTON, was checked back to last and finished in that position.
