Race 1 | The Treeman Sprint - C4 - 318 | MISS ARKANSAS, FIVE KAY KAT and WILLEE WINDSOR were slow to jump. The favourite ELITE LUKE was handy until the turn when MATILDA'S BEST ran outwards and checked him with ELITE LUKE losing momentum. He battled on for fourth. |
Race 2 | Trophies Plus Sprint - C1 - 318 | The favourite THRILLING AZTEC was only fairly away but improved along the inside into the bend. He was then held up behind runners losing momentum running on for third when clear. DUNN ROBIN YOU ran inwards into the bend and came together with HOTWAX losing ground. |
Race 3 | www.agrc.co.nz Sprint - C0 - 318 | SPARTACUS ran inwards towards the end of the back straight checking the favourite PRIMED TO DASH and turning that runner inwards on to HOT POOTIE, SCARPA and the second favourite MENDOZA MAN who all lost ground. On the bend MENDOZA MAN checked outwards off runners losing more ground. |
Race 4 | Reel-Fishin.com Stakes - C1/2 - 527 | BUTTONY BOY was last to jump. On the first bend MADDER THAN ran outwards pushing an improving BUTTONY BOY over extra ground. The favourite SURFING AL ran outwards when in the leading division at the end of the back straight and was tightened between runners losing ground and finishing well back. A post race veterinary check of SURFING AL revealed a badly sprained wrist with a 42 day stand down recommended. |
Race 5 | Bethells Farmstay for Dogs on Facebook Stakes - C0 - 527 | REFER TO RED and WHATA LADY were hard to box with REFER TO RED being placed on the box first list for his immediate starts. SAND BUSTER was last to jump. BON VOGUE ran outwards into the first bend forcing SAND QUEEEN and STABILE EYES over extra ground. SAND QUEEN received another check shortly after dropping to the rear. |
Race 6 | Carols TABS Sprint - C5 - 318 | TRUE INTENTIONS and BOY SPICE were slow to jump. Into the bend the favourite TERRY STANLEY was checked and lost ground as kennelmate WEE PING DOLL crossed to the rail in front of him. TERRY STANLEY then came off the rail on the bend pushing BOY SPICE wide before being checked from behind by THRILLING ALERT who ran outwards on to TALESIN BLUE and TRUE INTENTIONS as a result. TERRY STANLEY finished fifth with a post race veterinary check revealing no injury. There was no head on view available for this event. |
Race 7 | Thornton Auctions Sprint - C2/3 - 318 | GO TO CROW and ASTON RED were the last to leave the traps. Following the race ROTOVEGAS GIRL was found to have a dew claw pulled out with a seven day stand down recommended. |
Race 8 | $15,000 Pick6 Stakes - C1 - 527 | This race was delayed by two minutes at the request of Raceday Control. HIT DA NOS was awkwardly away. On the first bend HOLLALICIOUS and the favourite KILARA'S FANCY came together for a stride. |
Race 9 | The Brownzy Sports Bar Stakes - C2/3 - 527 | The favourite CORNELIUS as usual was last to jump. He was then forced wide around the first bend and came together with JETSUN GENES when improving on the home turn. He finished on for fourth. BEATRIX KIDDO ran inwards at the jump checking YAMBLA BOB and JETSUN GENES for a stride. |
Race 10 | Ashford Boarding Kennels Sprint - C2 - 318 | FRIZZLE FRAZZLE was last to jump. The favourite CHA CHA CHAINSAW was only fairly away from the outside and then came together with BOTANY ADAM on the home turn. CHA CHA CHAINSAW ran on well for third. BOLSTAD ran wide on the home turn losing ground. |
Race 11 | MTA Assured Stakes - C4 - 527 | THRILLING CAIRO was last to jump. RYDENBROOK JOSH ran inwards soon after the jump checking PRINCESS SHILOH and SUB CLASS who both lost ground. EMBLAZING was tightened and lost ground into the back straight. He recovered well to run third. |
Race 12 | Magness Benrow Sprint - C5 - 318 | FAIR MOVIN and CAWBOURNE MADZ were the last to jump. Favourite FIRE HAWK came together with GENTLE ATTACK for some distance in the back straight with GENTLE ATTACK losing ground. FIRE HAWK received another check from BAD STATE on the home turn. Handler Brendon Cole advised that he thought that the dog would improve with his first look at the Manukau track. |
Race 13 | Jack's Wholesale Meats Sprint - C1 - 318 | The favourite BIG SAM'S GIRL was checked as ALLBLACK ENFORCE ran off the fence into the bend losing ground. |
