Judicial report: From Waikato & Districts GRC - 28 April 2011. --- Handler Glen Quirk advised Stewards that he now wished to admit the charge of scratching without valid reason under Rule 64.2. Accordingly he is fined $150.00 under the Minor Infringements Table.

Race 1 Auckland Co-op Taxis Sprint - C3 - 318 PUNK DINO went down on his nose at the jump and wider out ENOUGH IS ENOUGH was slow. PUNK DINO and WINSOME DELTA came together soon after the start. WINSOME DELTA and ENOUGH IS ENOUGH came together on the home turn. When questioned regarding the improved performance of the winner MOODY MAN handler Kathy Wilson stated that the dog has always shown a preference for the Manukau track and had missed the jump at Cambridge on Thursday.
Race 2 McGhie Plumbing Sprint - C0 - 318 FLICK ATTACK weighed in 2.1kgs under her last race weight in December with handler Maxine Lozell advising that the weight loss was planned. GRAFFITI was slow to jump. GRAFFITI was then tightened into the bend and dropped out to finish last with a post race veterinary check revealing left calf muscle myositis with a seven day stand down recommended.
Race 3 Carols TAB Manurewa Sprint - C5 - 318 PRIVATE PEDRO and BAD STATE were the last to jump. PRIVATE PEDRO hit the running rail into the bend and lost ground with a post race veterinary check revealing wrist pain with a seven day stand down recommended. TO THE CREST and GOT THE JUICE came together wide on the track into the bend.
Race 4 www.agrc.co.nz Sprint - C1 - 318 FIRESIDE BLAZE weighed in 2.8kgs over his last start which was an intentional weight gain according to new Trainer Gary Noakes. IBHANSI was the last to jump. Into the bend IBHANSI and FIRESIDE came together for a stride with IBHANSI losing ground. PARADISE CITY ran inwards on the bend with FIRESIDE BLAZE being checked and losing momentum as a result.
Race 5 Thornton Auctions Auckland Derby Heat 1 - R/Aq - 527 Heat 1 ASCENDING FORCE ran inwards in the run to the first bend and came together with BUTTONY BOY and WINSOME BUSTER with these dogs settling at the rear. HONG KONG LOUIE received a check when racing on the outside of the leader at the end of the back straight and lost momentum with THREE INCH NAIL also losing a couple of lengths in this incident.
Race 6 Protector Safety Sprint - C4 - 318 This race was delayed by five minutes at the request of Raceday Control. AIN'T NO SAINT was last to jump. In a tightly bunched field into the bend VALIDICTION ran inwards checking ASTON RED who lost ground. Soon after COOL GALAXY was badly tightened and ran outwards on to ROTOVEGAS GIRL who in turn checked outwards on to MISS ARKANSAS and VALIDICTION who both fell and hit the outside fence. Post race veterinary checks were carried out on MISS ARKANSAS and VALIDICTION. MISS ARKANSAS was found to have lacerations and bruising with a fourteen day stand down recommended and VALIDICTION received biceps bruising and a sprained toe with a twenty-one day stand down recommended.
Race 7 $15,000 Pick6 Stakes - C1 - 527 This race was delayed by two minutes due to the previous delay. The favourite SURFING AL was slow to jump but made ground well for second.
Race 8 Thornton Auctions Auckland Derby Heat 2 - R/Aq - 527 Heat 2 WINSOME FLASH was tightened and checked in the early stages running inwards with BENNY ROX and MR. CHINO losing ground as a result. Into the bend WINSOME FLASH was again tightened and ran outwards checking JOHN DEED who lost ground. The favourite THRILLING BRAT got well back in the running but made ground late for third.
Race 9 Carols TAB Papakura Sprint - C5 - 318 TRUE INTENTIONS ran inwards at the end of the back straight with TALEISIN BLUE, ROCKY BEND GIRL and MOTHERLEE all being badly checked and losing ground. HIFI ALLEGRO was subject to a post race veterinary check that revealed a torn hip support muscle with handler Brendan Cole advising that she would now be retired.
Race 10 Magness Benrow Stakes - C4/5 - 527 WIZARD APPEAL ran inwards soon after the jump tightening LITTLE MOTHER and FANCY STEP who lost ground. Soon after this YAMBLA BOB and FANCY STEP came together for a stride. RASMAH faltered in the early stages of the race pulling up at the entrance to the back straight. A post race veterinary check revealed a torn gracilis with a 42 day stand down recommended.
Race 11 Bethells Farmstay for dogs on Facebook Stakes - C2/3 - 527 THRILLING APRIL and BEATRIX KIDDO were slow to jump and remained well back throughout.
Race 12 Jack's Wholesale Meats Sprint - C2 - 318 WORLD CUP MISS was tightened by SHOWTIME ADDIS into the bend and then ran outwards badly checking PRIDE OF SOUTH. Into the bend SHOWTIME ADDIS checking the favourite JULIA NORRIS who lost ground.
