Southland Greyhound Racing Club

Ascot Park Raceway ON TUESDAY 26 Apr 2011

Weather: Cloudy
Track: Good The lure failed during the concluding stages of Race 3. The cause of the failure was found to be a lose spring within the lure mechanism which caused the brush to work free with the resultant loss of power.. Races 4 and 5 were completed without problem however repairs were undertaken to the lure spring following Race 5 which nessecitated the race start times for the meeting being put back one race with Race 12 commencing at 3.58pm. The lure failed again in Race 6 at the same point with the leading dog NOISE CONTROL catching the lure. Examination of the rail found a break in the power conductor wire which was replaced and the lure tested with Race 7 being run at 2.38pm without problem. This failure resulted in the meeting being put back a further race, Race 12 to now commence at 4.17pm.
