MILLIE SWANSON checked away from the heels of NELLY FLAHERTY on the first corner and then checked over the heels of HOMEBUSH EDDIE on the bend losing ground on both occasions and finished near the rear. |

BILLY HAKA, CRYSTAL SAL and the favourite FLAG WAVER jostled together for several strides in the run to the first corner and they dropped back to the rear losing all chance of a first three finish. |
| Race 5 | Broad Roofing Services C1F - C1f - 305 | SOUTHERN EIGHTY ran in from the start and checked THUNDA THIGHS who then shifted out and jostled with FLYING FLYNN for several strides and THUNDA THIGHS lost three lengths and she never recovered. |
| Race 6 | Morrie Gibbons Signs C1 - C1 - 520 | ANOTHER BREEZE shifted in soon after the start and caused checks to RED HERRING, LOTTO RASPBERRY,HOMEBUSH DIP and HAPPY CLAPPY who all lost ground. HOMEBUSH DIP recovered the best of those affected and he finished well for a close 2nd placing with the other three dogs in the rear group. ERIC'S SONG shifted in entering the back straight and checked BOTANY GARETH who lost four lengths. |
| Race 7 | Wanganui Security Services C0/1D - C1d - 645 | WHO'S YA DUFFER went up with the box lids and lost three lengths but recovered to finish in 3rd place. LOTTO FUN and SLICE OF MAGIC were checked going to the first corner and they both lost ground. PRETTY SECRET 'S galloping action did not appear correct in the middle stages of the race and she was examined by the Vet and stood down for 14 days with pain over a stopper ligament. |
| Race 8 | Gary Ross Decorator C1/2 - C1/2 - 305 | HOMEBUSH JODIE was handy enough starting on the bend but collided with MISS TYRA , dropped back to last and stayed well back to the finish. |
| Race 9 | Keenan Concrete Wanganui C1 - C1 - 520 | HOMEBUSH MELL ran very wide over extra ground on the first bend. LOUIE MACHALL and MUM KNOWS JACK collided on the final bend and MUM KNOWS JACK lost several lengths and finished in last place. IMAGE was also affected in this incident and also lost ground. |

| Race 12 | GEON Wellington SF C1 - C1 - 305 | TIZA FEVER and the favourite CHASIN' CROWS were slow to begin. CHASIN' CROWS made up ground to finish in 3rd place but TIZA FEVER stayed back to finish in 2nd last place. |
