RHODA HOLMES recovered to make up ground for 4th place but THRILLING IRIS stayed back to finish in last place. SINGLE SCULLER and ROTKARA JACKIE were checked back to the rear on the first corner and they stayed back to finish in the rear group. |
| Race 2 | Harrison Hire Master C2 - C2 - 305 | SEDGEBROOK LEE was the slowest to begin but he secured a clear run through on the rail to finish in 2nd place. KINGA COOP was tightened between SALLY SAY SO and GROOVY SHANE soon after the start and he lost ground and settled back in the field and made up some ground for 5th place. |
| Race 3 | Guthrie Bowron, Wanganui C1 - C1 - 520 | WHO'S YA DUFFER and CRYSTAL BANNER were slow to begin losing two lengths. WHO'S YA DUFFER recovered to run on well and finished in 2nd place. CRYSTAL BANNER checked off the heels of POOR BOUNCE on the first corner and ran wide on the first bend and stayed back to finish near the rear. |
| Race 4 | Crombie Lockwood (NZ) Ltd C2/3 - C2/3 - 305 | One of the favourites LACHLAN VALLEY was checked soon after the start and again on the first corner where he dropped back to last and then ran past beaten runners to finish in 6th place. |
| Race 5 | Couper Catering C2/3 - C2/3 - 305 | ACHEW ACHEW was handy on the first corner but was checked and went back onto ULTIMATE SPICE who lost ground and UPAHUT CRYSTAL who fell heavily. ACHEW ACHEW then collided with the hind quarters of LIL'LARRIKIN on the home turn with both dogs losing a little ground. UPAHUT CRYSTAL was examined by the Vet and stood down for 5 days with a hip wound. |
| Race 6 | Morrie Gibbons Signs C2/3 - C2/3 - 520 | RYBENBROOK JOSH, WANDY KYLE and SUMMER SPICE were slow to begin. Soon after SUMMER SPICE and WANDY KYLE jostled together for a couple of strides and they settled at the rear. THRILLING ALI was checked entering the back straight and lost two lengths. RYBENBROOK JOSH had to ease entering the final bend to avoid the heels of MY BAD JONNY. |
| Race 7 | Palamountains Nutrition C5 - C5 - 305 | CATCH A PUNTA was slow to begin and stayed back to finish in last place. HIFI ALLEGRO and CAWBOURNE JOSE bumped soon after the start and lost a little ground. MAGICATE shifted in on the first corner and checked HIFI ALLEGRO who went back onto CAWBOURNE JOSE with both dogs losing ground and all chance of a first four placing. Soon after, MAGICATE shifted out and checked UPAHUT STAR who was pushed wide over extra ground on the bend. |
| Race 8 | Mickeys Super Liquor C4 - C4 - 305 | BIGTIME SURVIVOR checked off the back of ERIC PHOENIX on the first corner and shifted out to race wide into the bend over extra ground but he ran on in the straight for 4th placing. CIAO FOR NOW moved out from the rail on the first corner and checked ERIC PHOENIX who lost four lengths. |

| Race 10 | Keenan Concrete, Wanganui C4/5 - C4/5 - 520 | The favourite BIGTIME GEM led throughout the race to win narrowly. BIGTIME GEM had been favourite four days previous at Palmerston North and had led in the early and middle stages but had compounded and finished last in that race but was found to have a slight injury which required a three day stand down. |
| Race 11 | Gary Ross Decorator C5 - C5 - 305 | FIVE KAY KAT was checked on the first corner and he went back to last and finished in that position. He was examined by the Vet and stood down for five days with pain in a gracilus muscle. |
