| Race 1 | 0800 4 Down Cow Sprint - C1 - 375 | THRILLING KITE was very slow to jump. Soon after the start FIJIAN SAM ran inwards tightening the favourite PUNK DINO, JELLYSTONE PARK, HOMEBUSH TUI and THRILLING RAY all of whom lost ground. FIJIAN SAM came together with MISS FOLEY on the bend and fell regaining his paws and finishing the race with a post race veterinary check revealing no injury. PUNK DINO recovered well after his early check and finished well for second. |
| Race 2 | Greyhounds North Maiden Distance Series - C0d - 650 | STRIKE ONCE crossed to the rail into the bend and checked THRILLING FRANK who lost ground. He recovered well to run second. On the first bend THRILLING SALSA ran outwards and came together with THRILLING MARCH with BINGO STARR being forced wide around that bend. BINGO STARR then dropped out in the back straight to finish last with a post race veterinary check revealing no injury. There was no head on view available for this race. |
| Race 3 | Clubhouse Sports Bar Sprint - C1 - 375 | CAWBOURNE BEAR ran inwards at the jump checking all runners inside him namely the favourite RUMSFIELD, PIN UP PUPPY, FRIZZLE FRAZZLE and HICCUP. Soon after LUCK NOW KID appeared to be tightened and lose ground with RUMSFIELD again being checked and dropping to the rear. RUMSFIELD made up ground late to finish fourth. LUCK NOW KID dropped out of the race to finish last with a post race veterinary check revealing bruising to the right calf muscle with a five day stand down recommended. Trainer Greg Pomeroy will keep Stewards informed if any more serious injury becomes apparent in the coming days. Again in this event the head on camera failed after a short distance. |
| Race 4 | YGOT Bonus Scheme Stakes - C0 - 457 | COOL MOCHA ran inwards slightly soon after the jump tightening CREAMY RICE who lost ground. Towards the end of the back straight THIRD MAN was tightened between runners and dropped to the rear. The favourite THRILLING JONAH was slow away but then improved along the rail into the bend. He then clipped the heels of CAFE CHIC and fell. THRILLING JONAH regained his feet and completed the race with a post race veterinary check revealing grazing to his tail and rump with a five day stand down recommended. |
| Race 5 | The Straw Warehouse LTD Sprint - C4 - 375 | POSTMAN JIM was the slowest to jump. BRIGHT CONQUEST ran inwards at the jump tightening kennelmate WILD FLYNN and ROTOVEGAS GIRL who dropped to the rear. The favourite BLUE JEAN ALICE checked off the back of THRILLING ALERT on the bend and lost some momentum battling on well for fourth. |
| Race 6 | Tauwhare Stakes - C1 - 457 | THRILLING PUNCH ran outwards soon after the jump and came together with PLASMAH and ICHI NI for a stride. In the back straight DECADENT ran outwards and made firm contact with ICHI NI who lost ground. ICHI NI did well to recover for third. |
| Race 7 | Te Awamutu Self Storage Sprint - C2/3 - 375 | PEPPER LICIOUS was slow to jump. The favourite HONG KONG LOUIE checked off the back of BOTANY SHELLEY on the bend and dropped to the rear. When attempting to improve on the home turn he was held up for room and ran wide cannoning into BOTANY SHELLEY who nearly fell and PEPPER LICIOUS. A post race veterinary check of BOTANY SHELLEY revealed no injury. The winner ASSEGAI changed ground in the run home when denied an inside run and finished well to win the event. Trainer Maxine Lozell stated that reverting to sprinting and back to his favourite track accounted for the improved performance of the winner ASSEGAI. |
| Race 8 | Superior Chunky Dog Rolls Stakes - C5 - 457 | MR. METICULOUS was last to jump. FANCY STEP checked off kennelmate REGENT HURRICANE into the bend and lost ground settling at the rear. Handler Kathy Wilson advised Stewards that NONNA'S GIRL had not jumped cleanly in the Auckland Cup heats and that the drop in class and return to her favourite track contributed to a much improved performance. |
| Race 9 | Hautapu Veterinary Clinic Sprint - C1 - 375 | IBHANSI and HE'S A STUNNER were the last to jump. SAMBO WARRIOR went down on his nose for a stride into the bend and lost his handy position. NEW MONIA appeared to falter early in the home straight and dropped out with a post race veterinary check revealing a puncture wound between toes with a ten day stand down recommended. |
| Race 10 | Victoria Station Sprint - C2 - 375 | The favourite THRILLING SIGHT proved very awkward to box in this event. His boxing manners will be monitored in his next start. VIBURNUM checked outwards off runners into the bend and lost ground. THRILLING SIGHT was caught wide into the bend and battled on in behind the placegetters for fifth. |
| Race 11 | Garrards Horse and Hound Sprint - C5 - 375 | THRILLING RUST was last to jump. MY JACK ATTACK and MATANUSKA were both slightly tightened for room into the bend as COOL IDOL and THRILLING GRIN crossed them from wide out. The leader THRILLING GRIN ran very wide into the home straight losing ground but once balanced finished powerfully to win. |
| Race 12 | Tokoroa GRC Racing here Sunday - C3/4 - 457 | BOTANY ADAM ran outwards in the back straight pushing MINT OCTANE and JOHN DEED wider with these dogs losing ground. Into the bend THRILLING FONZ ran outwards and was checked from behind by WINSOME BUSTER with both dogs losing some momentum. |
