INTENSE ZOOM then checked off the heels of POISON GRACE soon after the start and they both lost a little ground. POISON GRACE made contact with the rail after the finish line and was examined by the Vet as a precaution and stood down for 7 days with a tricep muscle injury. |
| Race 2 | Harrison Hire Master C0 - C0 - 520 | CINDY HAKA and ANOTHER STAR bumped together on the first corner and lost a little ground. TIPLA was checked entering the back straight losing five lengths and he stayed back to finish in last place. |
| Race 3 | Guthrie Bowron Wanganui C1 - C1 - 305 | The favourite TIGER HOODS led by three lengths on the first corner but ran very wide on the bend and dropped back to 4th place entering the home straight but ran on very well to win the race. PHANTOM FOG shifted out on the first corner and checked SLATER'S MATE who lost ground and he finished in last place. |
| Race 4 | Crombie Lockwood (NZ) Ltd C1 Ht 1 - C1q - 520 Heat 1 | GREYWINDS KOBY and THRILLING ANNIE were slow to begin and settled at the rear. HOMEBUSH BAKUGAN who had won its last two races over sprint distances, was handy in 2nd place until the last bend where he began to tire and he dropped out to finish in 2nd last place. |
| Race 5 | Couper Catering C1 - C1 - 305 | The favourite LEVERAGE began awkwardly losing ground but recovered to secure a clear run on the rail and win the race. GINA MAC jumped well but was tightened and checked back to last soon after. She then made contact with BOTANY TOM on the first corner and they both lost ground and finished well back. FAWN ALLEGRO was away best from the start and led by two lengths going into the bend but ran wide over extra ground and this probably cost himself the chance of a closer placing than 3rd. |

THRILLING SIMONE was checked on the first corner and went back onto HAYLEY'S WISH who was checked and then ran wide into the bend losing further ground and she stayed back to finish in last place. |

SOPHISTICATED and MUM KNOWS JACK disputed the lead going into the first bend but they collided and lost ground with MUM KNOWS JACK being the most affected and she lost several lengths and stayed back to finish in 2nd last place. |
| Race 8 | Mickeys Super Liquor C1 - C1 - 305 | HOMEBUSH BREE was tightened from the outside on the first corner and forced in onto MINI DEAN who made contact with the rail and they both lost ground and finished at the rear. MINI DEAN was examined by the Vet and stood down for 14 days with a sprained stopper ligament. |

LOTTO RASPBERRY shifted in soon after the start and caused a slight check to SECRET CHLOE who lost a little ground. SECRET CHLOE then raced out wide over extra ground for the remainder of the race and finished several lengths last and she was examined by the Vet and stood down for 14 days with a wrist injury. |
