| Race 1 | Bethells Farmstay For Dogs on Facebook - C4 - 318 | Favourite ASTON RED was last away but ran on well for fourth. FORTIS JOURNEY clipped the rail at the end of the back straight and dropped away to finish a long last with a post race veterinary check revealing a torn right hip support with a 42 day stand down recommended. Trainer Mike Lozell when questioned in regards to the form reversal of the winner CAPTAIN CARLOS stated that this dog had competed in the Railway Heats last week and noticed the significant drop back in class today. |
| Race 2 | Manukau Maiden Series Heat 1 - C0q - 318 Heat 1 | STABILE EYES was tightened and dropped to the rear as BIG LASS ran outwards in the early stages. DUMA was subject to a post race veterinary check that revealed right gracilis pain with a ten day stand down recommended. |
| Race 3 | The Brownzy Sports Bar Series Heat 1 - C1q - 318 Heat 1 | JELLYSTONE PARK ran inwards soon after the jump and checked FIJIAN SAM and THRILLING MAVIS for a few strides. The favourite MS. TOURNAMENTAL was dragged down from behind into the bend and lost ground and her chance with a post race veterinary check revealing no injury. THRILLING MAVIS also lost ground at this point dropping to the rear. |
| Race 4 | Manukau Maiden Series Heat 2 - C0q - 318 Heat 2 | ASK SIX, PAMPEST and the favourite IMAGINATION were the slowest to jump. IMAGINATION received a check into the bend when attmepting to improve and lost ground before running on for fourth at the line. ASK SIX checked outwards off BON VOGUE into the bend checking PAMPEST and SAND QUEEN who lost ground. ASK SIX, PAMPEST and SAND QUEEN came together again soon after and lost their chances at this point. |
| Race 5 | The Brownzy Sports Bar Series Heat 2 - C1q - 318 Heat 2 | The start of this race was delayed by two minutes due to a Reefton harness event running late. WINSOME KELLY was very slow to jump. FRIZZLE FRAZZLE received a check as CAWBOURNE BEAR ran inwards soon after the jump. CAWBOURNE BEAR then crossed to the rail into the bend tightening ON MY MIND and the favourite THRILLING HONEY who lost ground. Handler Barbara Craik was questioned in regards to the improved performance of the winner VIBURNUM. She told Stewards that the dog does not like being in a crowded situation and today was able to jump well and be in the clear throughout. |
| Race 6 | The Brownzy Sports Bar Series Heat 3 - C1q - 318 Heat 3 | ELLY'S GIRL was tightened in the run to the turn and dropped away to finish last with a post race veterinary check revealing no injury. When questioned in regards to the improved performance of the winner LADY LAKHSMI handler Stephen Mann stated that after her last run a slight injury was detected and the dog was freshened today reverting back to her preferred sprint distance. His comments were noted. |
| Race 7 | $15,000 Pick 6 Sprint - C3 - 318 | Favourite GO TO CROW was last to jump but made ground well to finish in second place. KAMACO, FAIR MOVIN and THRILLING CAIRO all came together soon after the jump and lost ground. |
| Race 8 | Jack's Wholesale Meats Sprint - C2 - 318 | GOLD FOR THYS was presented 2kgs under his last race weight with this being a planned weight reduction and the dog being passed fit to race. The favourite THRILLING AZTEC was last to jump. He was then forced very wide around the bend in order to improve and made good ground late for fourth. THRILLING CAM checked off GOLD FOR THYS into the bend and dropped to the rear. Trainer Karen Walsh informed the Stewards that the dog in the next door box was making quite a noise and this was off-putting to THRILLING AZTEC and could have caused the dog to be slow. The trainer of the winner SPRING TYDE Shirley Ross informed Stewards that her dog was "brainless" but today used her brains and jumped quickly proving too quick for the opposition. |
| Race 9 | $10,000 Bonus Quaddie Stakes - C1 - 527 | SURFING AL and favourite THRILLING PUNCH were the slowest to jump. DECADENT checked outwards into the back straight and lost some momentum. THRILLING PUNCH made ground well to be only a length from the winner at the line. |
| Race 10 | Magness Benrow Stakes - C4/5 - 527 | MACHIN SHIN was last to jump. THRILLING SNEAK and the favourite HAVE A YAP were tightened into the first bend and lost ground as SUB CLASS crossed from his outside draw. WINSOME FLASH checked outwards on the first bend pushing HARAJUKU BOY wider. In the home straight THRILLING SNEAK ran outwards slightly pushing SUB CLASS outwards on to MACHIN SHIN who took a heavy fall right on the finishing line. A post race veterinary check revealed no apparent injury but a seven day stand down was recommended in view of the nature of the fall and the likelihood of bruising. |
| Race 11 | Carols TABS Sprint - C5 - 318 | BENGINEER and KID KOONAWARRA came together into the bend when racing towards the rear. Just after the finish ROLLED OATS was crowded for room and hit the running rail at the start of the safety fence taking a nasty tumble. This resulted in a deep puncture wound to his left forearm with a 28 day stand down recommended. Following the race KID KOONAWARRA was found to have split webbing with a 21 day stand down recommended. |
| Race 12 | The Brownzy Sports Bar Series Heat 4 - C1q - 318 Heat 4 | THRILLING KITE was last to jump. LOONEY LEE and THRILLING KITE came together wide on the track into the bend. |
