| Race 1 | Allied Work Force 0800 Labour C0 - C0 - 305 | POISON GRACE ran in from the start and collided with SAFFRON FLAHERTY and they settled at the rear. They then jostled together for several strides in the run to the first corner losing further ground and all chance of a placing. THRILLING PEDRO shifted in on the bend and checked MILLIE SWANSON who went back and out and GLENORCHY had to check off her heels and dropped back. KATIE HAKA was unable to avoid GLENORCHY and was checked and fell with HOMEBUSH EDDIE going over the top of him and also falling. Both dogs were examined by the Vet and while no serious injury was detected in either dog, they were stood down for 5 days as a precautionary measure. |
| Race 2 | Harrison Hire Master C0 - C0 - 305 | STILL NO WIVES shifted in on the first corner and caused checks to MOANA BLUE, HOMEBUSH ZETA and CLUAIN MEALA who was following was also checked. |
| Race 3 | Guthrie Bowron C0 - C0 - 520 | The favourite THRILLING FRANK was away well and was in 2nd place on the first corner but had to check over the heels of GREYWINDS KOBY and lost several lengths. He then improved out wide on the final bend and finished well for 2nd place. JIMMY HAKA led from the first bend until into the home straight but faded quickly and finished in last place and was examined by the Vet and cleared of injury. The D.V.D films confirmed the official observation that JIMMY HAKA had tired quickly in the straight and had also been brushed by CLANG AND BANG and then SMASH BANG WIN had shifted in and may have hindered JIMMY HAKA for a stride. The Trainers representative was questioned regarding the run of JIMMY HAKA and stated that in his opinion the dog had simply tired badly over the final stages. |
| Race 4 | Crombie Lockwood (NZ) Ltd C1 - C1 - 305 | HOMEBUSH BREE ran in from the start and caused checks to LANSVALE SPARK, ROTKARA SWIFT and HE'S A STUNNER. HOMEBUSH CECIL also ran in and bumped PINTA GUINNESS who appeared unaffected by the incident and went on to win the race. |
| Race 5 | Palamountains Nutrition C1 - C1 - 305 | PARRA SPARRA began very awkwardly losing several lengths and he stayed back throughout to finish in last place. THRILLING LYRIC ran in sharply from the start and checked HARMONY BAXTER who lost ground. DEL TONES shifted out on the first corner and bumped HARMONY BAXTER with both dogs losing momentum. |

ALAMEIN FLASH drifted back on the bend and finished several lengths last and he was examined by the Vet and cleared of injury. |
