Track: Good The Club Management are in the process of organizing funding to upgrade the air conditioning in the kennel block after recent problems with the existing setup. While the present situation is not ideal, with co-operation between kennel staff and Trainers / Handlers, the Greyhounds are always in a very safe environment in the kennels.

Incident Reports

Race 1	Awapuni Stakes C0 - C0 - 457	CLANG AND BANG ran out and KNOW LOVE AFFAIR ran in from the start and this resulted in checks to FLUKY LUCY and VISUAL ILLUSION who were drawn in between. CLANG AND BANG continued to shift out and bumped KNOW LOVE AFFAIR on to HOMEBUSH DIP with both dogs losing ground and settling back in the field. BREAKING MELODY started from box 7 and raced wide throughout over extra ground but continued a strong run to finish well for 3rd place.
Race 2	GEON Wellington C1 - C1 - 375	GROOVY SHANE ran in from the start and collided with BLACK IS BACK and they settled near the rear. BLACK IS BACK was checked on the bend when racing inside GROOVY SHANE and he went back to last and stayed there to the finish.
Race 3	Peter Sinclair Photos C1 - C1 - 375	JUST TOM shifted out soon after the start and caused slight checks to itself and LEVERAGE and MICKEY THE RAT and they settled back in the field and stayed there throughout the race. The favourite KNOW HELP was the slowest to begin from box 8 and then received a slight check on the first corner when JUST TOM shifted out on to LEVERAGE who in turn was forced onto KNOW HELP who lost momentum and the chance of a first four placing.
Race 4	Foxton dash C1/2 - C1/2 - 375	HOMEBUSH JUST ran in from the start and caused checks to JAYDEN'S COURAGE and OH LORDY and they went back to near the rear and were unable to make up the lost ground and finished in mid field.
Race 5	Cloverlea Stakes C1 - C1 - 457	NIGEL THE LEGIN and WHO'S YA DUFFER were slow to begin and WHO'S YA DUFFER then recovered well to finish in 2nd place while NIGEL THE LEGIN stayed back to finish in last place. RYBENBROOK FLASH shifted in racing to the first corner and bumped TIZA FEVER who in turn shifted in and checked ERIC'S SONG with both dogs losing ground.
Race 6	Hokowhitu Dash C2 - C2 - 375	IMA SPICE, CAWBOURNE STEFFI and THRILLING ALI came together and bumped soon after the start and they settled at the rear. THRILLING ALI suffered a tricep muscle injury and was stood down for 5 days.
Race 7	www.racingdogs.co.nz C3/4 - C3/4 - 375	HOMEBUSH JAG checked off the heels of DARK SAGE on the first corner and lost ground. The favourite DARK SAGE had every chance but after being just ahead of mid field on the first corner, he drifted back and finished in last place. The Trainers representative B.Cole was questioned and expressed disappointment with the dogs run and stated that DARK SAGE would now be retired. The dog was examined by the Vet and found to have pectoral, gracilus and quadricep muscle injuries and was stood down for 14 days.
Race 8	Riverdale Stakes C 4/5 - C4/5 - 457	All clear.
Race 9	Manawatu Raceway Dash C3/4 - C3/4 - 375	Two of the better supported runners KNOW NEED and THRILLING GRIT were checked back to near the rear on the first corner when KINGA MIKE shifted in towards the rail and they lost four lengths and all chance of a first four placing.
Race 10	Turakina Dash C5 - C5 - 375	One of the favourites CAULDRON was away well and handy to the first corner but then checked off the heels of CAWBOURNE JADE and went back and out onto UPAHUT STAR and they raced wide over extra ground from there and finished in the rear group.
Race 11	Marton Stakes C2/3 - C2/3 - 457	WINSOME JAMES was the slowest to begin but showed speed to be handy on the first corner and went on to win the race. WANDY KYLE was mid field on the first turn but was checked losing several lengths and went back to last. WANDY KYLE then recovered to finish well for 4th place. BUDDY BROKE, TAILS OFF and KNOW INCENTIVE jostled together soon after the start and lost a little ground.
