He was checked again entering the final bend and finished in 2nd last place. EXCUSABLE was slow to begin and settled back in the field but did make up some ground for 4th placing. |

ULTIMATE SPICE ran in on the first corner and made contact with WHERE'S WALLY and soon after HOMEBUSH BONITA moved in and checked WHERE'S WALLY who shifted out and forced ULTIMATE SPICE to race wide over extra ground on the bend. |
| Race 3 | GUTHRIE BOWRON C2/3 - C2/3 - 520 | I'M NO VEGAN and OKAY'S DERMOTOFF were a little slow to begin and settled near the rear. OKAY'S DERMOTOFF shifted in racing to the first corner and made contact with the hind quarters of JODIE BALE who was turned sideways and they both lost ground and ran very wide into the bend losing several lengths. |
| Race 4 | CROMBIE LOCKWOOD C2 - C2 - 305 | HOMEBUSH CINDY moved in on the first corner and checked herself and also VIOLET JAZZ and they lost four lengths and all chance and finished at the rear. |
| Race 5 | PALAMOUNTAINS NUTRITION C2/3 - C2/3 - 305 | HOMEBUSH NELSON ran in from the start and checked ACHEW ACHEW who settled at the rear. SEDGEBROOK ELITE, HOMEBUSH NELSON and WINSOME DELTA came together and jostled for a few strides near the first corner. |
| Race 6 | OFFICEMAX C4/5 - C4/5 - 520 | SLICE OF MAGIC was very slow to begin losing several lengths but he made up ground to finish in 3rd place. |
| Race 7 | HARRISON HIRE MASTER C2/3 - C2/3 - 305 | HOMEBUSH JUST ran in from the start and checked ELITE IMPACT, ROTKARA LUCY, ONE WILD THING and FAST PAUSE who was the most affected and she was turned sideways. ELITE IMPACT continued to move in racing to the first corner and caused checks to FAST PAUSE, CATCH A DREAM and ONE WILD THING and they lost four lengths and finished in the last three places. FAST PAUSE suffered injuries to quadricep muscles and a wrist and was stood down for 10 days. |
| Race 8 | NZRS HT 1 - NZRSq - 520 Heat 1 | This race started three minutes late at the request of the T.A.B. KNOW EXCITEMENT and FREDDY JOHN were a little slow to begin and settled back in the field. KNOW EXCITEMENT checked off the heels of OPAWA GEM entering the back straight and SIXTY TWENTY was also checked in the incident with both dogs losing four lengths and they finished at the rear. |

| Race 10 | NZRS HT 2 - NZRSq - 520 Heat 2 | One of the favourites BIGTIME GEM was checked on four occasions in the run to the first corner and went back to equal last and she was unable to make up the lost ground and finished in 2nd last place. |
| Race 11 | MORRIE GIBBONS SIGNS C4 - C4 - 305 | REGAL OUTLAW and CAWBOURNE BUNDY were the slowest to begin. REGAL OUTLAW, who was the favourite then went forward to be handy in 3rd place on the first corner but faded from there to finish in 2nd last place. He was examined by the Vet as a precaution and found to have a grazed tibia but no stand down was required. MAJOR HIT and ROTKARA MOMENTS jostled together for a few strides near the first turn with both dogs losing ground. MAJOR HIT recovered to finish in 3rd place with ROTKARA MOMENTS in 6th place. |
| Race 12 | BROAD ROOFING SERVICES C4/5 - C4/5 - 305 | GEOFF PHOENIX jumped on terms with the other runners but drifted out soon after and finished several lengths last. He was examined by the Vet and stood down for 21 days with pain in a hock. OPAWA MISSY and UPAHUT STAR bumped together for a few strides in the back straight and lost ground. |
