Weather: Overcast
Track: Good The lures and rail were thoroughly checked after last weeks no race and found to be in working condition. However the control box in the lure drivers room was found to have a fault and this was replaced for tonight's meeting. A cog wheel on the lure snapped during the running of Race 11 necessitating the abandonment of the race.
Scales: Correct at all weights.
Health and Safety comment:

Judicial report: HAYLEY'S ACE (Diarrhoea) and WHERES JOHN CEE (Shoulder muscle soreness) were both withdrawn from their respective finals prior to the box draws with the necessary Vet Certificates produced. Stir ups were not permitted after Race 3 due to the tight time restraints by virtue of the commencement of the harness part of the dual code.

Race 1	Welcome To Cmbridge Raceway Stakes - C1 - 457	ICHI NI and THRILLING TUNE came together soon after the jump. This pushed THRILLING TUNE out and he came together with ICED UP wider out. These three dogs settled at the rear. Into the bend BOY SPICE ran inwards on to ALL IN ONE when challenging for the lead turning ALL IN ONE outwards with BOY SPICE and SPECIAL PROJECT all making contact and losing some momentum.
Race 2	Superior Chunky Dog Rolls Series Final - C1f - 375	WHO'S YA DUFFER was very slow to jump finishing fast late for fourth. ASSEGAI was checked soon after the jump as GROOVY BANDIT ran outwards with ASSEGAI also being held up into the bend when improving. ASSEGAI made ground well for third. WHO'S YA DUFFER and GO TO CROW came together on the home turn.
Race 3	Kirstie McGrail @ Harcourts Te Awamutu Sprint - C5 - 375	LOCHINVAR PRINCE dropped to the rear soon after the jump. Into the bend BENGINEER was tightened and ran outwards coming together with LOCHINVAR PRINCE with both dogs settling well back.
Race 4	The Red Cherry Cafe Stakes - C3 - 457	STRIKE ONCE and SPRING TYDE came together into the bend with WINSOME BUSTER being dragged down for a stride in this incident.
Race 5	I B & J D Singers Stakes - C5 - 457	THRILLING SHOT ran outwards in the back straight and came into contact with THRILLING ANGEL with both dogs losing ground. STICKY BOY when in second place eased for about 50 metres in the back straight and drifted to the rear before running on again in the straight for fourth. A post race veterinary check of STICKY BOY revealed no injury. STICKY BOY was charged under Rule 80.1.b. for failing to pursue the lure and stood down for 28 days and the dog must complete a satisfactory trial.
Race 6	Happy Birthday Jenny Bartlett Stakes - C2 - 457	PEPPER LICIOUS and PURE DREAMER came together in the early stages and dropped to the rear. Into the bend BURN FOR US was dragged down for a few strides and lost ground. A post race veterinary check of BURN FOR US revealed no injury.
Race 7	Te Awamutu Self Storage Series Final - C0f - 457	GEM'S LAST and MR. CHINO were the last to jump. Into the bend FANCY MILLY and THRILLING BRAT came together wide on the track and lost some ground with THRILLING FRANK being held up in behind them. Just past the line CIAO FOR NOW fell with a post race veterinary check revealing a strain of the left fore flexor tendon with a fourteen day stand down recommended.
Race 8	Denis Cole Memorial Waikato Sprint - C5f - 375	HAILEY'S AGENT was very slow to jump. LOW SELF ESTEEM dropped away into the bend and finished last with a post race veterinary check revealing a strained hock and a puncture wound to a toe with a fourteen day stand down recommended.
Race 9	Lawrence Racing NZRS Distance Final - NZRSdf - 747	DANGLE THE CARAT checked off the back of the pacemaking THRILLING SIREN on the final bend and lost a couple of lengths.
Race 10	Waikato Classic Final - Group 2 - R/Af - 457	ASTON RED ran outwards soon after the jump checking KNOW EXCITEMENT who lost ground and settled last. Into the bend MY JACK ATTACK ran inwards and badly checked KAZZ RAZZ and TIMS TIGER with ASTON RED and KNOW EXCITEMENT also receiving interrupted runs at this stage. A post race veterinary check of MY JACK ATTACK revealed no injury.
Race 11	Waikato Cup - INV - 457	This race was abandoned following a lure breakdown on the bend due to a snapped cog-wheel on the lure. All dogs were checked and except for AWESOME BENDER found to have no injury but the majority of trainers did not wish to rerun the race as they had run about 200 metres. AWESOME BENDER was found to have a grazed anus with a seven day stand down recommended.
Race 12	0800 4Down Cow Stakes - C4 - 457	This race ran 15 minutes late due to the change and checking of the replacement lure. The kennelmates KNOW SPUNK and FIREMAN'S SALUTE were both checked and lost ground into the bend with FIREMAN'S SALUTE dropping out to the rear.
