GEM'S LAST ran outwards at the jump with IMA SPICE being checked for a stride and COOL MOCHA being severely tightened and dropping out to a clear last. SHIRONA ran outwards contacting runners into the bend and lost ground. |
| Race 2 | Te Awamutu Self Storage Series Heat 2 - C0q - 457 Heat 2 | BIG LASS was slowest to jump. MR. CHINO was tightened and lost ground soon after the jump. Into the bend CREAMY RICE ran inwards with BON VOGUE receiving a check. On the bend ELOUERA BABE and GEORGIE LEE came together for a stride. |
| Race 3 | Te Awamutu Self Storage Series Heat 3 - C0q - 457 Heat 3 | PAMPEST was last to jump. Favourite THRILLING BRAT and CIAO FOR NOW came together soon after the jump with THRILLING BRAT dropping to the rear. He put up a big effort to win. PAMPEST was checked into the bend losing some ground along the inside. |
| Race 4 | Greyhounds North Maiden Series Heat 2 - C0d - 650 | Favourite PRINCESS SHILOH was last to jump and ran very wide for the first half of the race finishing midfield. MIXED GRILL was tightened when starting to tire on the home bend dropping out to finish last. |
| Race 5 | Waikato Classic Heat 1 - R/Aq - 457 Heat 1 | ROLLED OATS and WINSOME BUSTER came together at the jump and settled well back. ROLLED OATS was then badly held up as he attempted to improve into the bend and lost ground. In the home straight GEORGE O'MALLEY and JUST DEFY THAT came together for a stride with GEORGE O'MALLEY being checked as a result. GEORGE O'MALLEY was subject to a post race veterinary check that revealed torn right biceps muscles with a twenty eight day stand down recommended. |
| Race 6 | Waikato Classic Heat 2 - R/Aq - 457 Heat 2 | PEPPER LICIOUS and RUN RILEY RUN were the last to jump. ASTON RED, EMILY BAXTER and TEDDY MARCELLO all came together in the early rush with the latter two dogs losing ground. |
| Race 7 | Waikato Classic Heat 3 - R/Aq - 457 Heat 3 | CORNELIUS made his customary slow start and settled last. In the home straight KNOW SPUNK checked off the back of the pacemaking FALKIRK FANTASY and lost momentum and its winning chance finishing a close fourth. |
| Race 8 | Waikato Classic Heat 4 - R/Aq - 457 Heat 4 | WINSOME FLASH was last to jump. ONE TOUGH COOKIE was tightened between runners into the bend and lost some ground. The lure driver was unable to stop the lure at the conclusion of the race with the dogs pushing it 100 metres further than normal. It was found that a wire had broken with the lure being replaced before the next race. ONE TOUGH COOKIE was found to have a laceration to a leg as a result of the extra run of the lure with the veterinary surgeon recommending a fourteen day stand down. |
| Race 9 | Clubhouse Sports Bar Sprint - C4 - 375 | WHAT'S SHE PAYNE ran inwards soon after the jump with PRIDE OF SOUITH, REALON RAPTURE and SHARMANS MAGIC all receiving some tightening and losing ground. |
| Race 10 | 0800 4Down Cow Stakes - C4/5 - 457 | SHAKEY BAKE ran very wide down the back straight losing ground. STICKY BOY was tightened and came together with OLYMPIC ACE into the bend and dropped to the rear. |
