HOMEBUSH HIFI was handy on the first corner but was checked and dropped back onto JUST TOM and they lost several lengths and finished in the last two places. |
| Race 2 | Media Works C0 - C0 - 520 | RHYME IN MELODY, IGNITE THE LIGHT and BREAKING MELODY were checked on the first corner and BREAKING MELODY went out forcing CATCH ME CARTER wide into the bend. The same two dogs then collided further around the bend and they stayed back to finish at the rear. |
| Race 3 | Guthrie Bowron C1 - C1 - 305 | JAYDEN'S COURAGE ( box 2 ) ran out and AERIAL BAXTER ( box 7 ) ran in from the start and this resulted in checks to KINGA MIKE, STATELY BABE, OH LORDY and HOMEBUSH BRUCE. RUN FOR LLEYTON checked off the heels of KINGA MIKE on the bend and dropped back onto JAYDEN'S COURAGE who went back to last and finished in that position. Soon after, HOMEBUSH BRUCE, KINGA MIKE and HOMEBUSH TIME bumped together and lost a little momentum. |
| Race 4 | Crombie Lockwood (NZ) Ltd C1 - C1 - 520 | BOTANY HORNET jumped well but collided with SITE AN EXCUSE soon after and she went off stride and drifted back to finish a long last. She was examined by the Vet and stood down for 21 days with calf and bicep muscle injuries. |
| Race 5 | Palamountains Nutrition C1 - C1 - 305 | The favourite ROTKARA SWIFT was slow to begin losing three lengths but did make up ground to finish in 4th place. CAWBOURNE DARCY was racing adjacent to the rail on the first corner but was checked and went back to last and stayed there to the finish. |

| Race 8 | Mickey's Super Liquor C2/3 - C2/3 - 305 | HORSE POWER was slow to begin and remained well back and finished in last place. MAJOR HIT moved in on the first corner and checked TWENTY SIXTY who never recovered and finished in 2nd last place. |

He was examined by the Vet and stood down for 21 days with a triangle muscle injury. BIGTIME GEM was held up for a couple of strides when racing just behind OPAWA GEM when running into the final bend and she lost some ground. |
