Track: Good The track was presented in excellent condition despite the rain that set in later in the programme. An electrical fault in the 457m boxes prevented the boxes closing automatically. As a precaution these races were started by hand. This fault is to be fixed before next Friday's meeting.

Health and Safety comment:

Judicial report: As a result of an adjourned inquiry from last Sunday at Manukau Trainer NP Green was fined $100.00 (as per the Minor Infringements Table) for a breach of Rule 69.11 after CAPTAIN RICHIE weighed in at 35.1 kgs which was 1.8 kgs above its weight on 21 November 2010. HIT DA NOSE a stand down from Manukau last Sunday was rechecked by a raceday Vet and cleared of injury. Therefore the stand down is rescinded under Rule 82.6. Handlers K Wilson and P Sutch-Jones were each fined $50.00 (as per the Minor Infringements Table) when admitting charges under Rule 71.2 for failing to retrieve their dogs on time for Races 1 and 2 respectively.

Race 1 Welcome To Cambridge Sprint - C0 - 375 GLENORCHY and BRONZE FOR MACOS were slow to jump. DUMA and MOODY MAN came together for some distance in the back straight with both dogs losing ground. DUMA then ran outwards on the bend and pushed BRONZE FOR MACOS wider with these runners losing more ground and filling the last two placings.
Race 2 YGOT Bonus Scheme Sprint - C1 - 375 HE'S A STUNNER was slow with BOY SPICE and RUN FOR LLEYTON colliding soon after the jump losing ground. RUN FOR LLEYTON was forced very wide when attempting to improve into the bend and was unable to make ground on the leaders. OKAY'S VERA DEE was tightened into the bend and lost ground.
Race 3 0800 4 Down Cow Stakes - C0 - 457 JUDY LASS and PAMPEST were the slowest to leave the traps. Into the bend BON VOGUE was dragged down by an improving TOP CAT resulting in BON VOGUE running outwards and badly checking TOP CAT.
Race 4 Interislander Dash - C1 - 375 THRILLING RAY and SISTER VIRTUE were crowded as HAPPY CLAPPY ran inwards soon after the jump. Into the bend SAMBO WARRIOR checked outwards and pushed THRILLING RAY and SISTER VIRTUE very wide around that bend with these three dogs losing their chances at this point.
Race 5 Hautapu Veterinary Clinic Stakes - C1 - 457 GIRL CHARM was slow to jump while FANCY GIRL and OKAYS BENAYOUN came together for a stride soon after the jump. BINGO STARR was tightened into the bend and lost ground. On the home turn RUN FOR US ran outwards and checked DON'T KNOW for a stride. At the lure DON'T KNOW was suffering from a mild dose of cramp but this had subsided by the time he had returned to the kennels with no stand down required.
Race 6 Innovative Homes Sprint - C4 - 375 PRIVATE PEDRO was last to jump. At the jump ROBOTUSSEN ran inwards and CAWBOURNE WHIZ ran outwards resulting in BAD STATE and CLAN DOUGLAS receiving some tightening. Into the bend the favourite GEORGE O'MALLEY received a check and lost ground with BAD STATE also losing ground in this incident.
Race 7 Garrards Horse and Hound Stakes - C1 - 457 SHARKIE'S DREAM came up with the lids and settled last. ICHI NI checked outwards as BURN FOR US crossed him on the bend with SPECIAL PROJECT being shunted wide at this point. THRILLING MAVIS was wide around the bend dropping out in the run home.
Race 8 Te Awamutu Self Storage Stakes - C4 - 457 COLD FINGERS was very slow to jump. BROTHER RABBIT was squeezed in the run down the back and lost ground. At the end of the back straight OSTI'S RUBY ran inwards and collided with WINSOME FLASH with both runners being severely checked and losing their chances. Post race veterinary checks were carried out on both of these dogs with no injuries detected.
Race 9 Clubhouse Sports Bar Sprint - C3 - 375 ROADMAN'S SHACK, WHAT'S SHE PAYNE and THRILLING LEE were all tightened and lost ground into the bend with PSYCHOTIC losing momentum having to avoid these runners.
Race 10 Superior Chunky Dog Rolls Sprint - C5 - 375 ROLLED OATS, MY JACK ATTACK and PUNK SCOOTER were all tightened into the bend and lost ground. MY JACK ATTACK recovered well to run third. CAPTAIN CARLOS ran wide into the bend and lost some ground with the eventual winner DARK CAVALIER changing ground to his inside to obtain a run.
Race 11 Protector Safety Sprint - C2 - 375 Favourite DUNN ROBIN YOU came up with the lids settling last and remaining there.
Race 12 Racing here again Christmas Eve Stakes - C2 - 457 MATILDA'S BEST ran outwards on the home turn and checked CORE POWER for a stride.
