Judicial report: An inquiry was opened and adjourned into the circumstances surrounding the late scratching of MICKEY THE RAT in race 2 after the dog who was 2nd reserve was advertised on the T.A.B as starting from box 7 when in fact, under G.R.N.Z rules, the dog should have been shown as starting from box 1. When the error was discovered by the Stewards, it was too late to change the T.A.B s information and the Stewards could not allow the dog to start from an incorrect box.

Race 1	AWAPUNI STAKES C0 - C0 - 457	The well supported KNOW LOVE was a little slow to begin but then made a forward move going into the bend but collided with WALTZING FIREFLY and they dropped back to the rear and stayed there to finish in the last two places. The eventual winner FORGIVEN ME moved in on the first corner and checked RHYME IN MELODY and WIND CHIMES who both lost ground.
Race 2	PETER SINCLAIR PHOTOS C1 - C1 - 375	The favourite KNOW RIVAL was very slow to begin losing several lengths but made up ground well to finish in 2nd place. THRILLING WEB began well but then knuckled over losing several lengths and he stayed back to finish in last place.
Race 3	GEON WELLINGTON C1 - C1 - 375	ONE COOL CAT, BLACK IS BACK and CAWBOURNE WAYNE were checked back to the rear on the fiirst corner and ONE COOL CAT and CAWBOURNE WAYNE then ran wide on the bend and all three finished in the second half of the field.
Race 4	TURAKINA STAKES C1 - C1 - 457	HOMEBUSH WARRIOR and TIZA FEVER collided soon after the start and settled at the rear. RUN STEVIE RUN and SITE AN EXCUSE collided on the first corner losing several lengths and they finished at the rear. TIZA FEVER was also affected in the incident and also lost ground.
Race 5	CLOVERLEA STAKES C2/3 - C2/3 - 457	MAINLAND STAR, PURE DREAMER and TAILS OFF were awkwardly placed and jostled together on the first corner and lost ground.
Race 6	FOXTON DASH C2/3 - C2/3 - 375	All clear.
Race 7	HOKOWHITU DASH C5 - C5 - 375	KID KOONAWARRA was checked and lost ground on the first corner and he stayed back to finish in the rear group.
Race 8	WOODVILLE STAKES C4/5 - C4/5 - 457	REALON RAZZLE was checked and lost ground on the first corner as GEOFF PHOENIX moved across towards the rail. Soon after, FIFTH EDITION and GEOFF PHOENIX collided and FIFTH EDITION lost momentum but he quickly recovered to go on and win the race.
Race 9	Group 2 NI Challenge Stakes Final C5 - C5f - 457	REALON RHAPSODY and AWESOME BENDER were the slowest to begin and while REALON RHAPPSODY stayed back to finish last, AWESOME BENDER recovered to make up ground and win well. OLYMPIC ACE ran in from the start and caused checks to LITTLE MOTHER, BARKHAMSTED and WINSOME OPAWA. WINSOME OPAWA also recovered to finish in 2nd place while the favourite LITTLE MOTHER ran wide over extra ground after the incident and finished in 5th place.
Race 10	NZRS FINAL C2D - NZRSdf - 766	MISS SNOW ANGEL was a little slow to begin and could not keep up with the early pace and raced several lengths behind the 2nd last dog throughout.
Race 11	WWW.RACINGDOGS.CO.NZ C1/2 - C1/2 - 375	HORSE POWER began a little awkwardly and then collided with FAST TEDDY and dropped back to last and he stayed there to the finish.
Race 12	MARTON DASH C4 - C4 - 375	Runners drawn wide out moved across on the first corner and caused tightening and checks to CAULDRON, TURF MOOR and HOMEBUSH JUST and they went back to the rear. CAULDRON recovered best of them to run on and finish in 4th place with the other two finishing at the rear.
