Health and Safety comment: Southland turned on an extremely hot humid day, and trainers are reminded to ensure that their dogs have adequate shade and fluids after racing. It is recommended by Stewards that trainers avail themselves of the opportunity to return their dogs to the kennel block following racing.

Judicial report: Trainer RD BLACKBURN was charged with a breach of Rule 69.11 as a result of DEMOGRAPHIC, a starter in Race 9, weighing in 1.8kgs under his last race start weight of 28 October 2010. Trainers representative L PHILLIPS admitted the charge with a fine of $100.00 being imposed under the GRNZ Minor Infringement Table.

Race 1	ADDED ENERGY WELCOME - C0 - 390	BARKING MAD was very slow to jump. PEGSON FIRE ran in sharply after jumping to collide with LIGHTENING FEVER who was forced onto CEE CEE ARE. MR.MEADE moved off the rail into the bend tightening CEE CEE ARE and LIGHTENING FEVER.
Race 2	BRENDON BURKE @ SOUTHERN WIDE - C0 - 390	MOREPORT SHANNON ran out after the jump checking ANOTHER DRIZZLE. Into the bend MR.FONTERRA moved inwards tightening HOMEBUSH CECIL who along with MR.FONTERRA were checked. The tightening caused THRILLING STRIKE to check out off heels to come in contact with MOREPORT SHANNON, both running wide around the bend.
Race 3	SOUTHLAND & OTAGO PHOTO FINISH - C1 - 457	MY BLIND SIDE collided with OKUKU STAR soon after the jump. Into the bend MY BLIND SIDE improved along the rail before being tightened by HIGHGROVE. As a result MY BLINDSIDE checked out off the heels of HIGHGROVE colliding with OKUKU STAR and FERAL DUCHESS which resulted in MEECES TO PIECES and HOMEBUSH WILD being forced wide.
Race 4	$26 FIVE WIRE MUZZLE STAKES - C1 - 390	MYRA BEE was tightened and checked by EARS CHUCKS into the bend before MYRA BEE was struck and dragged down by a trailing THRILLING PEACH. MYRA BEE was subject to a veterinary check which revealed
Race 5	KELVIN HOTEL - C1 - 390	DROOPY'S STORM ran in after the jump checking MEASLES and NOISE CONTROL. Into the bend SKIPPING RHYMES was tightened by BOTANY TOM. Soon after DROOPY'S STORM and MEASLES were checked by TOWER on their outer. THRILLING HALLE took no competitive part in the race after having turned in the boxes. She was ordered to undertake a 'box trial' in accordance with Rule 72.13.
Race 6	SOUTHERN FLOOR CARE LTD - C1 - 457	SLIGHTLY AMAZING ran out into the bend colliding with FRITO BANDITO.
Race 7	SGRC STAMINA PLUS POWDER - C1 - 390	In the run to the bend BLACK PAN checked out off the heels of RED TIGER colliding with BRUNO. Into the bend WEE SHADOW moved away from the rail tightening HOMEBUSH BRUCE and PARTICULAR GIRL who came together resulting in both falling. Both BLACK PAN and BRUNO lost all chance when scrambling over the fallen dogs. Both HOMEBUSH BRUCE and PARTICULAR GIRL were subject to veterinary checks which revealed PARTICULAR GIRL to have sustained fractures to both forelegs resulting in her euthanasia on humane grounds. HOMEBUSH BRUCE was found free of injury.
Race 8	www.southlandgreyhounds.co.nz - C1/2 - 390	BAKE BEAN BETTY and SOULJAH BOY came together soon after the start. Into the bend BOTANY STORY was tightened by THRILLING CYBIL losing ground. Soon after SHAZA COOL ONE drove down towards the rail checking BAKE BEAN BETTY.
Race 9	$25 YARD MUZZLE STAKES - C2 - 390	All clear.
Race 10	SGRC BOUNCE B POWDER - C3 - 390	WAVE YA HAND and COT CASE CUTIE came together after the jump. Into the bend REAL SLIM SHADY ran outwards tightening HONOUR, HOMEBUSH LENNY and CAWBOURNE BOLT. CAWBOURNE BOLT was subject to a veterinary examination which revealed fractures to the left metatarsal resulting in euthanasia on humane grounds.
Race 11	ASCOT PARK HOTEL - C2 - 390	GOZO DANCER lost her footing soon after the jump colliding with ICE BALL before bouncing inwards off that dog to collide with OCTANE AL. WATERHOUSE jumped awkwardly from the boxes. Both into the bend and around it SUPERIOR RANK and CAWBOURNE STARS came together when vying for the lead before SUPERIOR RANK checked out off CAWBOURNE STARS hindquarters just before the home straight.
Race 12	justracing.com.au - C3 - 390	CONTINUE and JEALOUS GLANCE collided soon after the jump. Into the bend ASTRO DAVE crossed towards the rail tightening VAMPIRES SHADOW and MOST HAUNTED.
