Into the bend HOMEBUSH CECIL moved inwards tightening HURRY HOME, ANOTHER DRIZZLE and HOMEBUSH ZAH resulting in HOMEBUSH ZAH falling heavily. An improving MOGADISHU was checked when running into the checked dogs. A veterinary check on HOMEBUSH ZAH revealed a fracture of the right foreleg resulting in euthanasia on humane grounds. |

Soon after HOMEBUSH REECE and TE PIRITA TIKI came together losing momentum. Into the straight TALIESIN BLUE and OCTANE SPARK came together with OCTANE SPARK coming back on CARNABY who in turn was dragged down by BOTANY ANN. |
| Race 6 | Ross Bailey Motors Galaxy - C5q - 295 Heat 3 | CRAFTY CLEEVE drifted to the rear after the jump. Into the bend FOUR ONE CHARLIE ran out coming in contact with RONRAY DISCO. The winner HALF AS MATE cramped up badly passing the winning post and fell to the ground at the lure. He was attended to on the edge of the track by the Club Veterinarian who confirmed the dog to have cramped up in all four legs, but had recovered quickly with no stand down period required. The dog's complete race performance would be monitored by Stewards on a race by race basis. |
