Track: Good Concerns were expressed by a trainer regarding the uneven nature of the racing surface and softness close in to the running rail. Stewards conducted a check of the track accompanied by the veterinary surgeon to ensure the surface was safe for racing. Checks across the track after the running of trials showed that while there was some softness on the inside of the track the surface was not considered dangerous and would be checked throughout the meeting to allay any concerns.

Race 1	Barron's Supplies Ph 3859438 Dash - C0 - 295	KNOW RIVAL was slow to jump. From the jump HICCUP ran inwards and struck HOMEBUSH DIGBY who was again checked when GIMME A GEM moved outwards in the run to the turn. On the turn FREDDIE BAXTER moved out and checked INDIGO DREAM who stumbled and lost ground. A post race veterinary check of INDIGO DREAM revealed the dog had sustained no injury during the incident.
Race 2	Challenge Opawa All Up Stakes - C0 - 520	From the jump GUY BAXTER ran across to the inside and checked the running of CROSS TO DAPTO. Into the first turn as the field came together RANGITOTO ROHI checked off the hind quarters of OPAWA BLACK and lost ground. UNIQUE ROSIE was struck in the rear by MEDIVAC and dragged donwards before running erratically outwards and coming into contact with SMOOCHA. Stewards deemed the dog's performance to be unsatisfactory and UNIQUE ROSIE was ordered to undertake a Satisfactory Trial in accordance with Rule 81.1 before racing again.
Race 3	Excelsior Sports Bar & TAB Sprint - C0 - 295	From the jump ANOTHER DRIZZLE ran sharply inwards and collided with HOMEBUSH TAYLOR with both dogs losing ground. On the turn RUN PATCHES RUN ran inwards and struck PETROL VOUCHER losing all chances.
Race 4	David Emerson Consultancy Stakes - C0 - 520	Into the first turn EMIE ROSE crossed over and checked the running oif OKUKU FLYER and MULBERRY BLACK. Then on the turn DONNA BAXTER ran outwards and was struck in the rear by THATS COOL with EMIE ROSE also checked. DONNA BAXTER tailed off to finish a distant last. After the race DONNA BAXTER was subject to a veterinary check which revealed lacerations to the left hind leg with a seven day stand down recommended.
Race 5	www.containersdirect.co.nz Stakes - C1 - 520	MULBERRY ROSE raced at the back of the field throughout and appeared to be racing awkwardly. After the race MULBERRY ROSE was subject to a veterinary check which showed right triceps pain with a 28 day stand down recommended.
Race 6	Angler's Arms Tavern Dash - C1 - 295	From the jump UNCLE EARL ran outwards and struck ONE COOL CAT. Then into the turn EARS CHUCK crossed from the outside draw with KNOW ATTENTION severely checked and stumbling to lose all chance. KNOW ATTENTION was subject to a veterinary check which showed no injury.
Race 7	Super Pets Sprint - C1 - 295	From the jump KUNG FU TEDDY ran outwards and struck TOWER with both dogs losing ground.
Race 8	Dave Robbie Photographer Dash - C1 - 295	Into the turn FOREIGN GOING checked off the rear of SMASH KINGDOM and went back on top of AKAISHA BALE who lost ground. On the turn MAGIC TEMPTRESS ran outwards and forced KNOW LIFE and SPIN A TITLE wide.
Race 9	Murray@Re/Max Real Estate Ph 3715005 Stakes - C1 - 520	Into the first turn KNOW TELLING ran inwards and struck UNDER COVER who checked out and ran wide on the turn.
Race 10	www.aaroncoullhearttransplant.co.nz Sprint - C1 - 295	FOREVER WITHIN was slow to jump. In the straight PROTEST LINE struck the rear of BLUESKY WONDER and stumbled heavily losing all chances to finish a distant last. PROTEST LINE was subject to a veterinary check which revealed nothing amiss.
Race 11	Coaster's Tavern Stakes - C1 - 520	At the starting boxes trainer Mr G.Cleeve had difficulty loading away KNOW WHICH in the second line and was spoken to regarding the dog's manners, with permission given to box first for future races under Rule 72.10. STATE DA OBVIOUS went up with the lids and lost ground. In the run to the first turn the field tightened and STATE DA OBVIOUS struck the running rail and fell heavily. STATE DA OBVIOUS fell into the path of KNOW WHICH who also fell heavily. Both dogs resumed their feet and finished the race a long way back. A post race veterinary check of both dogs revealed no injuries sustained in the falls.
Race 12	Speight's Dash - C2 - 295	NEED A NURSE was slow to jump. Into the turn DEMOGRAPHIC checked off OHOKA DUKE and ran out wide losing ground.
