Track: Good There was no power to the 457m boxes when checked prior to Race 2. The club electrician was summoned and the problem found to be in the transformer at the boxes which has failed. The lure and both sets of boxes had been tested 3 times on race morning and found to be in order. Race 2 was put back 45 minutes with Raceday Control re scheduling the remainder of the program, the last race going at 4.58pm, only 20 minutes after the original advertised last race start time. The 457m boxes operated without problem for the remainder of the day and they will be thoroughly inspected by the electrician prior to next meeting on Tuesday 21 September 2010.

Race 1	Added Energy Welcome - C0 - 390	BAKE BEAN BETTY ran in after the jump and collided with INIGO JONES. Into the bend RISING MERCURY and OZARK'S CROWN came together with RISING MERCURY coming back on THRILLING PEACH and BAKE BEAN BETTY. SPIRAL EBONY was the subject of a veterinary check which revealed a cut to the right hind foot with a 10 day stand down recommended.
Race 2	www.southlandgreyhounds.co.nz - C0 - 457	Prior to race start time it was found that there was no power to the 457m boxes. This race and the remainder were put back pending repairs being undertaken by the club electrician. SLIGHTLY AMAZING, ARCHIE'S JET and MR.FONTERRA were slow to jump. Into the bend MR.MEADE was tightened by OPAWA BLACK losing ground. Soon after MR.FONTERRA, SALLY SAY SO and MR.CAMEROON came together losing ground. Into the home straight an improving MR. MEADE improved inside OPAWA BLACK who ran wide losing ground. Trainer JE DUNN lodged an objection to the length of the lure during the running of the race. The race result wasn't declared pending inquiry. DUNN stated that the lure had stopped in the home straight when well clear of the field, and the length of the lure in his opinion was in the vicinity of 40 metres long. Enquiries established that the lure was well clear of the leading dogs but not to the distance as stated by DUNN. After viewing the race film Stewards determined that no dog had stopped chasing or been substantially inconvenienced to affect the race outcome in accordance with Rule 75.1 as a result of the lure lead and the payment of dividends was then authorised. Stewards noted that DUNN'S dog OPAWA BLACK had raced in 2nd position and had been forced wide into the home straight as a result of MR.MEADE improving on his inner.
Race 3	$25 Yard Muzzle Stakes - C1 - 390	STAGS INGILL ran in after the jump checking HOMEBUSH KALAMA, FOUR NAME OCTANE, NOISE CONTROL and COOL GORDIE. Into the bend FOUR NAME OCTANE and COOL JORDIE collided. Soon after TUKURUA COLT checked out off the heels of BRASSED OFF. BRASSED OFF was vetted and found with pain to his left wrist with a 5 day stand down recommended.
Race 4	Graduation Heats - NZRSq - 457 Heat 1	BRUNO was slow to jump. Into the bend MORIARTY struck the heels of KAIAPOI JADE who was dragged down as a result with subsequent checks LYNDOUR GEM, WHY WHY DELILAH and BRUNO. KAIAPOI JADE was subject to a veterinary check which revealed no injury.
Race 5	Brendon Burke @ Southernwide - C1 - 457	ANNE OF CLEVES was slow to jump. Into the bend an improving ANNE OF CLEVES collided with MUSCOVITE and MAINLAND STAR, all losing ground.
Race 6	$26 fiive Wire Muzzle Stakes - C2 - 390	THAT'S BIZAAR and SING CILLA BLACK were slow to jump.
Race 7	SGRC stamina Plus Powder - C1 - 390	WEE SHADOW lost all chance when stumbling soon after the jump.
Race 8	SGRC Bounce B Powder - C3 - 390	OUR BEOWULF ran in after the jump checking MOST HAUNTED and FAST TEDDY. Into the bend VAMPIRES SHADOW moved away from the rail onto HO HO PAREORA and CAWBOURNE JODIE. Soon after CAWBOURNE JODIE checked out off the heels of HO HO PAREORA to come in contact with MOST HAUNTED and DAIMLER DAVE.
Race 9	Graduation Heats - NZRSq - 457 Heat 2	GIMME A DREAM and MIGHTY PROPHET were slow to jump. In the run to the bend REAL SLIM SHADY checked out off the heels of KING OF CLUBS.
Race 10	Southland & Otago Photo Finish - C4 - 390	CREPE MYRTLE ran out in the run to the bend checking GENERAL VIEW and CAWBOURNE CLICK.
Race 11	Graduation Heats - NZRSq - 457 Heat 3	HI JEAN and WICHITA LINEMAN came together after the jump when the field compacted losing ground. PRETTY GIRL ran away from the rail in the run to the bend checking DEMOGRAPHIC, HERE EYE AM, FRITO BANDITO HI JEAN and WICHITA LINEMAN. Around the bend an improving HERE EYE AM collided with PRETTY GIRL who was turned sideways. PRETTY GIRL was subject to a veterinary check which revealed no injury.
Race 12	justracing.com.au - C5 - 390	Into the bend BLACK MUSKAT crossed LIAM BALE and BOB BAXTER who both lost ground. BOB BAXTER then moved outwards coming in contact with REDLINE CHAOS and MUSTARD FUDGE.
