| Race 2 | WANGANUI FARM SUPPLIES - C1 - 520 | MISS GIGI and RED TERROR were bumped from the iinside going into the first bend and they were pushed wide and lost a little ground. |
| Race 3 | GUTHRIE BOWRON, WANGANUI - C1 - 305 | IMA ROYAL, CAWBOURNE BEAR and OUR NICKI GALLOP were checked and lost ground on the first corner. CAWBOURNE BEAR ran into the back of CAWBOURNE TOUCH on the home turn and they finished in the last two places. |
| Race 4 | CROMBIE LOCKWOOD (NZ) LTD - C1/2 - 305 | STAR SEEKER was checked and fell on the first corner and MIRAGE ROYALE was badly hindered in the incident losing several lengths and she tailed the field home. STAR SEEKER was found to have suffered a fractured foreleg and was humanely euthanased. |
| Race 5 | VITA POWER - C1/2 - 305 | JOSHIE'S GIRL was handy to the first corner but was checked and went back onto LANSVALE SPARK who also lost a little ground. LANSVALE SPARK again checked off the heels of JOSHIE'S GIRL approaching the straight entrance and lost further ground at that point. |
| Race 6 | OFFICEMAX - C2/3 - 520 | KNOX was checked and made firm contact with the rail on the first corner losing ground and he tailed the field by several lengths to finish in last place. He was examined by the Vet and cleared of injury apart from minor spike wounds. |
| Race 7 | BILDERBECK CONSTRUCTION - C5q - 305 Heat 1 | STAR CONQUEST moved in on the first corner and checked AZURE OSTI who lost two lengths. REALON RAPTURE and DARK SAGE collided on the home turn but they recovered to finish in 3rd and 4th places. |
| Race 8 | BROAD ROOFING SERVICES - C5q - 305 Heat 2 | This race was started 5 minutes late when there was a power failure to the lynx photo finish equipment. The problem was unable to be rectified immediately and the Stewards requested the race be run and the finish monitored by the video camera to assist the Judge. WONGAWILLINEV was handy running to the first corner but was checked losing several lengths and all chance and he finished in last place. |
| Race 9 | MEDIA WORKS - C5q - 305 Heat 3 | SPECTRA CONQUEST was checked on the first corner and lost ground. UPAHUT STAR was pushed up on the rail on pulling up at the lure and she suffered bruising and abrasions and wounds to hind limbs and was stood down for 10 days. |
| Race 10 | KEENAN CONCRETE, WANGANUI - C4/5 - 520 | The power to the lynx photo finish equipment again failed and the start was delayed by five minutes but the repairs were not completed in time and the finish was again monitored by the Judge with assistance of the video camera. GOSS SAGE and SEPTEMBER BLUE were checked and forced wide going into the first bend and they both lost ground. |
| Race 11 | MICKEYS SUPER LIQUOR - C3/4 - 305 | The well supported CAWBOURNE DUNE was slow to begin losing three lengths and he stayed back and finished in last place. |
| Race 12 | MORRIE GIBBONS SIGNS - C3 - 305 | One of the favourites ERIC PHOENIX was tightened and checked back to last early in the race and he never recovered and finished in that position. PSYCHOTIC was checked on the bend losing several lengths and he finished in 7th place. |
