| Race 1 | Allied Work Force 0800 Labour - C0 - 305 | PAPA GEORGIO was slow to begin losing four lengths. HOMEBUSH CECIL ran in from the start and caused bumping to FAWN ALLEGRO and FLICK ATTACK for a couple of strides. HOMEBUSH SPARKY and HOMEBUSH HIFI jostled together for several strides on the bend but recovered to finish in 1st and 3rd places. |
| Race 2 | Wanganui Farm Supplies - C0 - 520 | LADY LAHKSMI and HOMEBUSH BAZIL bumped together in the race to the first corner and settled at the rear. HAPPY CLAPPY moved out on the first bend and forced HAMPDEN JACK, TWIN TIGERS and MISS COOKA out over extra ground. TWIN TIGERS galloped on the heels of HAMPDEN JACK entering the back straight and both lost ground and TWIN TIGERS eventually fell. He was examined by the Vet and cleared of injury. |
| Race 3 | Guthrie Bowron, Wanganui - C1 - 305 | LITTLE RIDDLE checked over the heels of EVE HILL on the first corner and ran a little wide on the bend but finished well for 2nd placing. EVE HILL was reported to be sore after the race and was examined by the Vet and stood down for 28 days with swelling around a tendon. |
| Race 4 | Crombie Lockwood(NZ) Ltd - C1 - 305 | HOMEBUSH BREE and SURF SUNSET were slow to begin and they stayed well back and finished in the rear group. ASH VEGAS and HOMEBUSH JAG jostled together for several strides going into the bend and they lost a little momentum. |
| Race 5 | Vita Power - C1 - 305 | STATE OF PARDON and RUSTY ENFORCER bumped together and lost ground on the first corner. RUSTY ENFORCER moved out as a result and checked ROBUST BOY and CAWBOURNE ANN and all three runners lost ground and all chance of a placing. |
| Race 6 | OfficeMax - C1 - 520 | The favourite NIP TUCK led by several lengths from early in the race but ran wide approaching the straight entrance and only just held on to win narrowly. |
| Race 7 | Morrie Gibbons Signs - C1 - 305 | STAR SEEKER was checked and went back to last on the first corner and SYDENHAM PRETTY was checked soon after and also lost ground and they never recovered and finished in the rear group. |
| Race 8 | Mickeys Super Liquor - C1 - 520 | RED TERROR was checked on the first corner and went back to last and although she did make up some ground, she still only finished in 6th place. CAWBOURNE WAYNE bumped with MANLY MAGIC in the home straight and faltered for a stride and went back a couple of places. |
| Race 9 | Bilderbeck Construction - C1 - 305 | GET A PERM, ONE WILD THING and COUGH IT UP bumped together early in the race and COUGH IT UP was the most affected and he went back to last. BLUE BULLET moved in on the first corner and checked GET A PERM who went back and out and collided with UTAR BIG RIG and they both lost several lengths and all chance. |
| Race 10 | Keenan Concrete, Wanganui - SPECAd - 645 | THRILLING BUDDY was checked back to last soon after the start and he was again checked wth a circuit to run and raced in last place throughout. He was examined by the Vet as a precaution and stood down for 10 days with a hock joint injury. ELLA'S ANGEL was also checked early in the race and she stayed well back throughout to finish in 6th place. The payment of dividends was delayed while the Stewards studied the D.V.D replays of the start as concern had been expressed by the course announcer that the box lids may have opened prematurely. However, the Stewards were comfortable that the start had been perfectly fair and payments were then authorised. |
| Race 11 | Broad Roofing Services - C1 - 305 | NATHAN OPAWA was slow to begin and stayed back to finish in last place. GREAT AUNTY MIN was handy to the first corner but was checked and went back onto CAWBOURNE TOUCH and they never recovered and finished in the rear group. |
| Race 12 | Media Works - C2 - 305 | EARS CHUCK was handy until approaching the home turn where he was checked as BIGTIME PAL moved through on the inside and EARS CHUCK went back to last and finished in that position. |
