Health and Safety comment:

Judicial report: Handler J.Calvert was spoken to at the start of Race 5 when the greyhound ANNE OF CLEEVES briefly escaped her control whilst being paraded. The cause was a faulty lead and collar attachment. A charge under Rule 69.1 was laid against GA Cleeve, the trainer of SHAKIN' MARTINI, a starter in Race 10, when the greyhound weighed in at 2.1kg above her last race start weight of 32.7kg on 17th August. A decision was deferred until the trainer is spoken to and a check made of the last recorded weight.

Race 1	Otago First 4 Sprint - C0 - 310	SECRET FORTUNE was ver slow to jump and lost all chance to finish well back. Into the turn THRILLING PEACH checked off the rear of TUKURUA BELLE and then on the turn as TUKURUA BELLE was going back YOU BEAUT also received a check.
Race 2	Birthday 49 Jo Hill Stakes - C0 - 545	In the run to the first turn NINA'S GIRL ran inwards and checked the running of BANNED NO LONGER and FOUR NAME OCTANE. Into the turn FOUR NAME OCTANE pushed outwards and checked the running of MERMAN JEWEL and POOR BOUNCE.
Race 3	Eion Latimer Trotting Stables Sprint - C1 - 310	In the run to the turn LENNY'S FORTUNE eased into the path of OZARK'S COVER who struck the running rail and fell heavily. Then CAWBOURNE TINA ran outwards and collided with AWESOME DEEJAY who also fell heavily and struck the outside fence. Both dogs regained their feet to finish well back in the field. AWESOME DEEJAY was subject to a veterinary check which revealed no injury, while OZARK'S COVER was found to have a cut to the left hind foot with sutures required an a 10 day stand down recommended.
Race 4	Neville Gordon Memorial Heats - SPECAq - 545 Heat 1	All clear.
Race 5	John McInerney Birthday Stakes - C1 - 545	All clear.
Race 6	Brian Bagley Driver Licensing Sprint - C3 - 310	WHITE PHOSPHORUS was slow to jump. In the run to the turn WHITE PHOSPHORUS and CAWBOURNE RYE came together and lost ground. Into the turn CAWBOURNE CART checked off the rear of AKAISHA BALE and then WHITE PHOSPHORUS struck the rear of CAWBOURNE CART and fell heavily taking no further part in the race. A veterinary check of WHITE PHOSPHORUS revealed no injury was sustained in the fall.
Race 7	Otago Pick 6 Stakes - C1 - 545	Shortly after the jump ALLEGRINI ran inwards and checked the running of OZARK'S MASK and FULL ON BOWIE. Into the turn HIGHGROVE crossed over and checked the running of SUPERIOR RANK, with ALLEGRINI and WEE SHADOW also checked. AS a result HIGHGROVE stumbled and lost all chance to finish at the rear.
Race 8	Neville Gordon Memorial Heats - SPECAq - 545 Heat 2	All clear.
Race 9	Happy Birthday Tim Eade Sprint - C4 - 310	REDLINE REVOLVER jumped awkwardly and stumbled losing all chance to finish at the rear. Into the turn OH OTIS clipped the rear of ROTKARA LUCY and also stumbled, with both dogs losing ground to finish towards the rear. A veterinary check on REDLINE REVOLVER showing nothing amiss with the dog.
Race 10	Brocklebanks Dry Cleaners Stakes - C2/3 - 545	At the jump UNO JEWEL ran outwards and checked the running of EL KILDA.
Race 11	Herbert Family Sprint - C2 - 310	RED TIGER was slow to jump and never recovered to finish back in the field.
Race 12	Racing Again Next Tuesday Sprint - C1 - 310	At the end of the back straight the lure came back to within 2-3 feet of the lead dog PARTICULAR GIRL. The stewards reviewed the video and noted the lead dog PARTICULAR GIRL checked stride but did not catch or make contact with the lure and remained in front around the turn and into the straight, where it faded slightly to finish 2nd. The trainer of PARTICULAR GIRL (P Conner) was shown the video and he was satisfied that the dog, whilst checking stride, had remained in front for 30-40 metres. Under Rule 75.1 the stewards were satisfied that the lure position had not substantially affected the outcome of the race which was cleared for payment. The lure carriage was checked and it was found to be slipping on the running rail and the club was advised to have this checked prior to its next meeting.
