Race 1 | Awapuni Stakes - C0 - 457 | ELEMENO PEA was checked and almost fell on the first corner and lost several lengths and all chance of a placing. He was examined by the Vet as a precaution and cleared of injury. |
Race 2 | Peter Sinclair Photos Stakes - C1 - 457 | The favourite MR METICULOUS was slow to begin but then made up ground quickly to be handy on the bend but he faded in the home straight to finish in 7th place. It was the dogs first start over a middle distance and he appeared to tire over the final stages. |
Race 3 | GEON Wellington Sprint - C0 - 375 | BERN'S BUNNY was crowded for a few strides in the race to the first corner when TEE KAY MASSIVE moved in and BERN'S BUNNY eventually stumbled and fell. She was examined by the Vet and cleared of injury. |
Race 4 | Foxton Dash - C2/3 - 375 | THRILLING ALI was checked soon after the start when making contact with FLASH ENFORCER and he lost two lengths. |
Race 5 | Cloverlea Dash - C1 - 375 | CRAZY BABY was checked losing three lengths on the first corner but recovered well to finish in 3rd place. GREAT AUNTY MIN was checked on the home turn losing several lengths and she finished in last place. |
Race 6 | Hokowhitu Stakes - C2 - 375 | BIGTIME PAL was checked and lost ground soon after the start when CAWBOURNE SPEED moved in. OPTICAL MAN was handy on the bend but was checked losing five lengths and he never recovered and finished in last place. |
Race 7 | Woodville Dash - C1 - 375 | ROBUST BOY, HOMEBUSH JAG, KOP ROAR and TIZA FEVER were all checked and lost ground on the first turn and they stayed back to finish in the last four places. |
Race 8 | Riverdale Dash - C2 - 457 | All clear. |
Race 9 | Manawatu Raceway - C4 - 375 | KNOW NEED was checked on the first corner losing ground and he stayed back to finish in 2nd last place. |
Race 10 | www.racingdogs.co.nz - C5 - 375 | BILLY WHIZ was slow to begin losing three lengths and he stayed back and finished in 7th place. |
Race 11 | Marton Stakes - C4/5 - 457 | This race was started two minutes late at the request of the T.A.B. STARFIRE BOY was handy to the first corner but then made contact with GONE ZILLA and drifted back to near the rear and finished in 2nd last place. He was examined by the Vet as a precaution and stood down for 5 days with injuries to both tensor fascia late muscles |
