Stipendiary Stewards Report

Palmerston North Greyhound Racing Club

Manawatu Raceway ON MONDAY 19 Jul 2010

Weather: Overcast
Track: Dead
Scales: correct at all weights
Health and Safety comment:

Judicial report: Trainer J T McInerney was fined $100.00 under rule 69.11 when CAWBOURNE SPEED was presented to race at 32.5kgs which was 1.9 kgs up on his last race weight of 30.6kgs on the 2.7.2010
Race 4 on todays card was declared a no race by the stewards under Rule 76.1 due to a sensor malfuntion on the 457m boxes which resulted in the boxes opening before the lure tripped the sensor to open the boxes
The field raced the entire journey of the race with the lure being sent on its way and the lure driver did a good job in averting a potential dangerous situation for the dogs by speeding the lure past the dogs and then bringing it back to the field and keeping it going to the pull up area
Two dogs did fall on the first turn due to dogs going in differant directions trying to sight the lure
The problem with the sensor switch was identified ,however could not be fixed on the day and the last two races that were 457m were manually started with no problems
The sensor switch will be fixed by the clubs electrition on Tuesday 20.7.2010 and will be rigously tested before next weeks meeting
