Stipendiary Stewards Report

Christchurch Greyhound Racing Club

Addington Raceway ON TUESDAY 29 Jun 2010

Weather: Overcast
Track: Good The track was inspected by Track Overseer Duncan LAING at 2.00pm on Monday 28 June 2010 along with Club CEO Tony MUSIC, Curator Ann JOPSON and Steward Paul HARPER. The track surface was very soft and it was deemed too wet to open up and work. LAING confirmed the wet surface was attributable to the high water table and in his opinion the track required a reasonable drying period prior to it be worked up and relaid by the Curator. He calculated that 1.6 million litres of rain had fallen on the track surface itself in the past 5 weeks. No rain was experienced overnight enabling the Curator to prepare a race surface on race morning. Excellent race times were recorded during the meeting.
