Track: Dead The sprint boxes were replaced with a relatively new set the week prior to the meeting and had been thoroughly tested but for reasons unknown at this time, they failed to open automatically and all sprint races were manually started. The boxes will be checked and the required repairs carried out prior to the next meeting.

Race 1	Welcome Back To Manawatu Racing Sprint - C0 - 375	FREDDY JOHN ran in from the start and collided with CORPORAL JONES and soon after he collided with MR METICULOUS and they settled at the rear. CORPORAL JONES and MR METICULOUS stayed back to finish in the rear group while FREDDY JOHN made up ground well to finish in 3rd place.
Race 2	Bulls Middle Distance - C2 - 375	One of the favourites MYSTERY KIM was a little slow to begin and then received a slight check on the first corner and stayed back to finish in 2nd last place. PUNGAS LAD was also slow away and raced wide over extra ground throughout and finished in last place.
Race 3	Foxton Straight Sprint - C1q - 375 Heat 1	BOTANY ANGELA was checked on the first corner losing several lengths and she never recovered and finished in last place. KISSIN KATE ran wide on the bend and forced OPAWA MISSY wide over extra ground and they finished well back.
Race 4	Foxton Straight Sprint - C1q - 375 Heat 2	All clear.
Race 5	Foxton Straight Sprint - C1q - 375 Heat 3	All clear.
Race 6	Levin Sprint - C3 - 375	FLOYDY BOY jumped in the air as the box lids opened and he lost further ground when THRILLING ALI ran in soon after the start. FLOYDY BOY did make up ground to finish in 4th place. TAILS OFF was checked on the first corner and he went back to last and stayed in that position until the finish.
Race 7	Marton Dash - C4 - 375	RAISINS and RUN JAKE RUN collided soon after the start and settled at the rear. They were checked again on the first corner when FIND PEDRO moved out slightly and they never recovered and finished in the last two places. RAISINS suffered a laceration to a hind leg and was stood down for 14 days.
Race 8	Sanson Sprint - C5 - 375	PAYNEFUL TRUTH and REALON RAPTURE were both slow to begin losing several lengths and they tailed the field throughout to finish in the last two places.
Race 9	Awapuni Middle Distance - C1 - 457	DASH was checked back to last in the run to the first corner and he stayed back to finish last. CAWBOURNE BRIDE was checked on the first corner and lost three lengths.
Race 10	Greyhounds As Pets Middle Distance - C2 - 457	BULLISH MEGASTAR was racing mid field on the first corner and was observed to ease and went back to last losing several lengths. He then ran on well to finish in 5th place and was examined by the Vet and found to have injuries requiring a 10 day stand down but was stood down for 28 days under Rule 80.1 b for failing to pursue the lure throughout and is required to complete a satisfactory trial.
