Race 1 | Allied Work Force - C0 - 305 | ASK PLEASE began a little awkwardly losing ground but she did finish on well for 4th placing. ORANGA PAI was handy to the first corner but then drifted back and made contact with the hind quarters of SINGLE SCULLER on the bend and moved out checking GET A PERM and they finished in the last two places. |
Race 2 | Wanganui Farm Supplies - C1 - 305 | The favourite GYM CLASS HERO began awkwardly losing four lengths. GYM CLASS HERO then made contact with the rail on the first corner and bounced out and hit CAWBOURNE POINTA who in turn made contact with LOST FRIENDS and all three dogs lost several lengths and finished at the rear. GYM CLASS HERO was examined by the Vet as a precaution and cleared of injury. HOMEBUSH DAPHNE escaped from the handler following the race and ran down the concrete path and onto the track and suffered pad injuries requiring 7 days stand down. Inquiries revealed that the collar on HOMEBUSH DAPHNE had broken and that it was in good order and no action was required. |
Race 3 | Crombie Lockwood (NZ) Ltd - C1 - 305 | LITTLE RIDDLE moved away from the rail sligjhtly on the first corner and KILKENNY and HOMEBUSH CINDY were forced out which resulted in TREY BAXTER being checked and falling. TREY BAXTER was examined by the Vet and stood down for 14 days with hip and quadricep soreness. |
Race 4 | GEON Wellington - C0 - 520 | BLUE STRATA and FREDDY JOHN ran very wide over extra ground on the first bend. FREDDY JOHN recovered to finish well for 2nd place but BLUE STRATA stayed back and finished last. TWENTY SIXTY checked over the heels of KEACHY'S MATE on the first bend and lost three lengths. |
Race 5 | Guthrie Bowron, Wanganui - C2 - 305 | All clear. |
Race 6 | Vita Power - C1 - 520 | HAMISH BAXTER moved in on the first corner and made contact with WANDY KYLE and turned that runner sideways and both runners lost ground and they stayed back to finish in the rear group. HAMISH BAXTER suffered from a toe ligament injury and was stood down for 21 days to and including 20.06.10. |
Race 7 | Bilderbeck Construction, Wanganui - C3 - 305 | BACK AT YA drew box 2 but ran out soon after the start and forced MISSY OCTANE and KARAMU THUNDER to race wide on the track. KARAMU THUNDER cut down to the inside on the first corner and finished well for 3rd place but MISSY OCTANE stayed out wide on the bend covering extra ground and she finished in 2nd last place. |
Race 8 | Morrie Gibbons Signs - C2/3 - 520 | FLASHFIRE COAL was severely checked with a round to run and she lost several lengths and stayed back to finish in last place. CAWBOURNE WAYNE ran very wide on the first bend covering extra ground and finished in 2nd last place. MINI ZILLA was checked entering the back straight and lost four lengths. |
Race 9 | Keenan Concrete, 6 Pack - C5 - 305 | THRILLING MIX was the slowest to begin but recovered well to finish in 3rd place. BEAR CUB and CAPTAIN HASTINGS were checked on the first corner when BACK DRAUGHT moved in and they stayed back to finish in the last two places. |
Race 10 | www.wanganuicarcentre.com - C4 - 305 | MILLIE'S ME MUM was slow to begin but made up ground to finish in 4th place. UPAHUT STAR and KINGSBURY were handy to the first corner but were checked and lost ground. UPAHUT STAR recovered to finish 3rd but KINGSBURY who was the most affected, stayed back and finished in 2nd last place. |
