SCAMPER CLAIR moved out and made contact with KARAKA ROYALE in the run to the first corner and KARAKA ROYALE was pushed a little wide into the bend. |
| Race 2 | Gary Ross Decorator - C0 - 520 | RIDDLE BOY ran out from the start and checked KERRY'S DELIGHT who settled near the rear. BOTANY FREDA moved away from the rail on the first corner and forced SURF GEM out onto RIDDLE BOY who clipped the heels of SURF GEM and lost ground. KEACHY'S MATE was tightened between SURF GEM and GREAT AUNTY MIN on the first bend and fell. He was examined by the Vet and stood down for 14 days with pain in a wrist.. |
| Race 3 | Wanganui Farm Supplies - C0 - 305 | EVE HILL ran in from box 8 at the start and checked the favourite MIDNIGHT KIWI who settled near the rear. BLUE BULLET moved in on the first corner and caused checks to WAIRERE MIRACLE, MIDNIGHT KIWI and CAPTAIN RICKY who recovered to finish in 4th place. WAIRERE MIRACLE and MIDNIGHT KIWI both fell and were examined by the Vet and cleared of injury. |
| Race 4 | Guthrie Bowron, Wanganui - C0 - 520 | ALWAYS A PIRATE checked off the heels of BOTANY MATTHEW going into the final bend and lost a little ground. The winner ELLA'S ANGEL turned its head for several strides in the home straight and was examined by the Vet and found to be suffering from a torn bicep muscle and a wrist injury and stood down for 21 days. |
| Race 5 | GEON Wellington Final - C1f - 305 | OPTICAL MAN was slow to begin losing three lengths but he recovered to make up ground and finished in 4th place. HOMEBUSH DAPHNE, BIGTIME LUCKY, FLASH TRAV and JANIE PHOENIX were all checked on the first corner losing all chance of a dividend placing and they finished in the last four places. |

| Race 8 | Mickey's Super Liquor - C1 - 305 | MINDARIVA galloped on the heels of CAWBOURNE MADZ on the bend and both lost ground. Soon after, JACK BANNER checked off the heels of CAWBOURNE MADZ and lost ground. |
| Race 9 | Broad Roofing Services - C1 - 305 | STILL NO TRACK and SIX TO MIDNIGHT were the slowest to begin losing two lengths. STILL NO TRACK received a clear run through on the rail to finish in 2nd place but SIX TO MIDNIGHT collided with RUSTY ENFORCER on the bend and they both lost ground and finished in the last two places. |
