| Race 1 | Allied Work Force 0800 Labour - C2 - 305 | The favourite THRILLING BLAST was very slow to begin and lost four lengths. He then made ground quickly but had to check over the heels of RED TERROR on the first corner and ran wide over extra ground on the bend and into the straight and finished in 4th place. BIGTIME ACHIEVER and THRILLING BASIL were checked on the first corner and lost ground and the chance of a dividend placing. THRILLING BASIL and RED TERROR collided on the bend and RED TERROR almost fell and they finished in the last two places. |
| Race 2 | Guthrie Bowron, Wanganui - C1 - 520 | HOBSON'S LAW ran in from the start and checked KIWI SAVER and METROPOL and these two runners collided again on the first corner losing further ground. KIWISAVER made up some ground to finish in 4th place but METROPOL stayed back to finish in last place. OKAY'S BENNY BOY checked over the heels of OKAY'S VERA DEE on the first corner and went wide on the bend forcing BLACK OCTANE very wide over extra ground. |
| Race 3 | Wanganui Farm Supplies - C3 - 305 | HORSE POWER and ALAMEIN FLASH both began awkwardly loosing three lengths. SCOTT NO FUNDING moved in on the first turn and checked FIVE KAY KAT who lost several lengths and stayed back to finish in 2nd last place. TRICKY PAULA and THRILLING CAM bumped together for a few strides in the run to the first corner and they both lost a little ground. |
| Race 4 | Advance Pet Nutrition - C4/5 - 520 | BIGTIME ALL STAR moved in on the first corner and jostled with YORKLEA BEAUTY who dropped back onto BIGTIME RELOADER and they both lost ground. KID DELANEY was also affected and lost ground in the incident. BIGTIME ALL STAR led on the first bend but faltered approaching the back straight and went back quickly through the field and pulled up on the final bend. He was examined by the Vet and was euthanased due to a fractured hock. BIGTIME RELOADER was checked as BIGTIME ALL STAR went back through the field and she finished in last place. |
| Race 5 | Crombie Lockwood (NZ) Ltd - C3/4 - 305 | UPAHUT ZORRO drew box one and ran out from the start and caused checks to SET IN STONE, BILLY WHIZ and ALECIA RELTUB and they lost all chance and finished in the last three places with UPAHUT ZORRO finishing just ahead in 5th place. |
| Race 6 | Keenan Concrete Wangnaui, 6 Pack - C2/3 - 520 | CAWBOURNE WILKO, ATOMIC CLAIM and SURFER CHICK bumped together soon after the start and lost a little momentum. SURFER CHICK and DESTINE TO EXCEL were both checked on the first corner and went back to the rear and they stayed well back to finish in the rear group. |
| Race 7 | Group 2 Wanganui Distance Heats - C2dq - 755 Heat 1 | This race was started 3 minutes late at the request of the T.A.B. As the field raced into the home straight on the first ocassion, GIRL LEG galloped into the back of FARMOR JAZIL and moved out wide forcing STARFIRE BOY wide on the track and both lost ground. STARFIRE BOY recovered to finish in 3rd place but GIRL LEG stayed back and finished in 3rd last place. |
| Race 8 | Group 2 Wanganui Distance Heats - C2dq - 755 Heat 2 | KNOW BEST ran in from the start and bumped RASMAH in onto SWIFT FANTASY who settlled at the rear. SWIFT FANTASY then dropped away to race several lengths behind the 2nd last runner but then began a forward move entering the back straight and continued to finish on strongly to win the race. |
| Race 9 | Bilderbeck Construction - C4/5 - 305 | SWIFT CONQUEST ran in at the start from box 8 and caused checks to CHILD'S PLAY, MATES UNITE, ELITE LUKE and BIGTIME MOE and they all lost ground and any chance of a first three placing. ELITE LUKE fell after the finish line and was examined by the Vet as a precaution and cleared of injury. |
| Race 10 | Broad Roofing Services - C4/5 - 305 | BIGTIME SURVIVOR checked off the heels of FLYING CHAMELEON in the back straight and moved out causing checks to AWESOME AGENT, THRILLING MIX and OPAWA MEGASTAR who all lost ground. FLYING CHAMELEON led to the first corner but was checked when REGAL OUTLAW moved through on the inside and she dropped out to finish in last place. |
