Judicial report: The inquiry which was opened and adjourned on 19.04.10 in relation to alleged use of a cell phone on the track by Handler was reconvened and D.Voyce admitted a breach of Rule 88.1q and was fined $ 50-00 with a warning that any repeat of the offence would be dealt with very firmly. In reaching the penalty, it was taken into account that it was Mr Voyce's first offence.

Race 1 Allied Work Force 0800 Labour - C0 - 305 SCAMPER CLAIR and BOTANY BARB ran in from the start and SIX TO MIDNIGHT ran out and this resulted in UTAR JET and SINGLE SCULLER being checked back to the rear. UTAR JET then ran very wide over extra ground on the bend and she finished well back. KARAKA ROYALE was handy to the first corner but was checked and lost ground. SISTER VIRTUE who was following KARAKA ROYALE appeared to make contact with the rail on the first corner and she went back to the rear and finished in last place. SISTER VIRTUE was examinned by the Vet as a precaution and cleared of injury.
Race 2 Gary Ross Decorator - C0 - 520 KEITHYGEE was slow to begin and lost three lengths. KEITHY GEE and SURF GEM bumped together on the first bend and KEITHY GEE then moved out entering the back straight and made contact with BOTANY ROSE who fell. KEITHY GEE and SURF GEM again made contact when going into the last bend and racing at the rear and both lost further ground and they finished well back. BOTANY ROSE was examined by the Vet and euthanased due to a fractured foreleg.
Race 3 Wanganui Farm Supplies - C0 - 305 TUI CAN DO and MILLIE SWANSON collided on jumping from the boxes and again a few strides further on and TUI CAN DO lost ground. TUI CAN DO checked off the heels of MILLIE SWANSON on the bend and moved out and made contact with GINGER BISCUIT and they ran very wide into the straight and finished in the last two places.
Race 4 Guthrie Bowron, Wanganui - C0f - 520 KOP ROAR was a little slow to begin and then checked over the heels of GREAT AUNTY MIN losing further ground. SHADES and GREAT AUNTY MIN were awkwardly placed between runners on the first corner and both lost ground. KOP ROAR galloped on the heels of THRILLING TAMMY on the first bend and both dogs lost ground with THRILLING TAMMY being the most affected and she went back to last and stayed in that position to the finish.
Race 5 GEON, Wellington - C1 - 520 HOBSON'S LAW ran in from the start and checked OKAY'S VERA DEE and HAMISH BAXTER and all three dogs lost a little ground. OKAY'S VERA DEE and HAMISH BAXTER recovered to finish in 2nd and 4th places but HOBSON'S LAW stayed back and finished in last place.
Race 6 Keenan Concrete 6 Pack - C1 - 520 All clear.
Race 7 Morrie Gibbons Signs - C1q - 305 Heat 1 OPTICAL MAN was a little slow to begin but recovered well to be in 2nd place by the first corner and he maintained that position to the finish without threatening the winner. OUR MAC was also a little slow away from the boxes and he then raced very wide over extra ground on the bend and finished in last place.
Race 8 Mickey's Super Liquor - C1 - 520 JAYDEN'S COURAGE was away well and in 2nd place on the first corner but checked over the heels of SHEZA RATBAG, ran very wide over extra ground on the bend and went back to last and finished in that position. MUSTARD KEEN checked off the back of SHEZA RATBAG on the last bend and lost ground which possibly cost her the chance of a closer placing than 4th.
Race 9 Broad Roofing Services - C1q - 305 Heat 2 BREAKING DREAMS who was having her first start on the track, raced very wide over extra ground on the bend and into the straight and she finished in last place.
Race 10 www.wanganuicarcentre.com - C1q - 305 Heat 3 The favourite BOTANY HENRY was away well enough but could not keep up with the early pace and drifted back to near the rear. THRILLING VIRUS then moved in towards the rail on the first corner and caused checks to STAR SEEKER and BOTANY HENRY who never recovered and they finished in the last two places.
