Health and Safety comment:

Judicial report: The inquiry was reconvened from Friday 16.04.2010 in to the mis reading of the brands of CAWBOURNE DORE by i d steward Mr L Coleman which resulted in this dog being declared a late scratching from race 10.
Mr L Coleman readily admitted a charge under Rule 88.1 O of negligence and this being his first offence of any kind was fined $150.00.
The stewards enquired in to the getting lose of a race dog from its trailer just prior to race 7 It was one of Mr B Coles dogs that had been put away in the trailer an hour earlier. the van and trailer were securly parked with fencing on both sides of the trailer.
The van and trailer were throughly checked over by the steward and all catches ,doors and cages were found to be in a very good condition
After due consideration by the stewards it was decided that no further action would be taken at this point.
An inquiry was opened and adjourned in to the use of a cell phone on the track by a handler when the dogs were returning after race 10

Race 1	Allied Work Force 0800 Labour - C2 - 305	As the field raced down to the first turn MACAU came across on to CRYSTAL SAL and MISS ARKANSAS , then RED TERROR came in sharply and collided with MACAU almost stopping him in his tracks at that point, CRYSTAL SAL and PSYCHOTIC were also badly hampered in this incident and they went back to the rear and never recovered to get back in to contention from there on in
Race 2	Wanganui Farm Supplies - C1 - 520	Soon after leaving the boxes SHEZA RATBAG raced across the face of the field and ran in on to FLOATING AWAY and RUN BROADY RUN, a few strides on TAILS OFF came across on to CAWBOURNE SNOWY,BLACK OCTANE and HOMEBUSH BONITA ,causing these 3 dogs to run wide in to the first bend and covering extra ground On the point of the top bend HOMEBUSH BONITA was endevouring to make ground around TAILS OFF who changed ground causing TAILS OFF to check back off heels and was going back through the field there after
Race 3	Guthrie Bowron, Wanganui - C2 - 305	CAWBOURNE SCAREY stumbled and took a few strides to recover his footing on leaving the boxes and was unable to get in to contention from there on in. HUTT PARK LASS put in a below par performance and after the stewards spoke to the trainer they were advised that the dog will no longer be perservered with and has been retired
Race 4	Advance Pet Nutrition - C1/2 - 520	CAWBOURNE WAYNE was dragged down from behind by HOMEBUSH WARRIOR as they raced in to the first bend and went back through the field and then received another check soon after and he could not get in to contention from there on in and was sent for a vet check where no abnormalities were found KID KKOONAWARRA (fav) was caught in midfield as they raced around the first bend and then came together with BLACK IS BACK ,but had his chance thereafter
Race 5	Crombie Lockwood (NZ) Ltd - C3 - 305	OCTANE SPARK (fav) was awkwardly away from the boxes for a couple of strides ,however made up good ground up on the inside to finish in 2nd placing at the line HOMEBUSH JUST made contact with the running rail as they raced in to the first turn and went back through the field to finish in 2nd to last placing and has been sent for a precautionary vet check and was found to have suffered a left wrist injury with a 14 day stand down imposed
Race 6	Mickey's Super Liquor - C5 - 520	Soon after the start FINN'S ANGEL came across on to STARFIRE BOY and SEPTEMBER BLUE ,as BIGTIME GEM crossed over as well on to YORKLEA BEAUTY who then ran out on to BIGTIME RELOADER and STARFIRE BOY ,all these dogs received checks and jostling in the run in to the first turn
Race 7	Pedigree For Dogs - C5 - 305	The start of this race was held up for approx 4 minutes due to a dog getting lose from the parking area and galloping around the outside of the track The lure had just been put in motion ,but was quickly pulled up and the dogs where taken out of the boxes and checked and when clear of the runaway dog the race resumed . TWO TO MIDNIGHT (fav) got away fairly from the boxes and was making up good ground on the top bend when he was noticed to shorten up in his action and went back through the field and finished a distance behind the field and was carried back for veterinary attention and was found to have suffered a fractured hock and was humanly euthanased Soon after leaving the boxes ALLEGRO VISION and BIGTIME SURVIVOR came together and jostled for a few strides
Race 8	Bilderbeck Construction - C3/4 - 520	CAWBOURNE SPARK was awkwardly away from the boxes for a couple of strides GOSS SAGE came in as WANDY HAKA came out and they came together as they raced in to the first turn ,there was some tightning between WANDY HAKA, KID DELANEY, OKAYS' DERMATOFF and FATHER FIGURE as they jostled for positions and racing room . RAPPER NEWY a favoured runner was noticed to be uncomfortable in his action soon after leaving the boxes and went back to the rear and stayed there throughout and was sent for a vet check ,was found to have suffered a gracilis muscle injury with a 28 day stand down imposed
Race 9	Keenan Concrete 6 Pack - C5 - 305	POWERFUL ENEMY(fav) and ELITE LUKE came together soon after the start ,POWERFUL ENEMY could not muster enough pace to get to the lead and was pushed a bit wide in to the first turn which cost him a few lengths and he battled away in to 3rd placing at the line
Race 10	Broad Roofing Services - C4 - 305	REGAL OUTLAW (fav) was awkwardly away from the boxes and the had trouble gaining clear room in the run down to the first turn, as he made ground he came together with CAWBOURNE DORE , they both went back towards the rear and were not able to get in contention from there on in
