Judicial report: An inquiry was opened and adjourned after KYLE IZMIR, who had earlier been a late scratching due to a webbing injury, was mistaken as CAWBOURNE DORE by a kennel assistant and re presented for examination by the Vet who recommended the dog be scratched with a webbing injury. KYLE IZMIR and CAWBOURNE DORE are both black dogs and very similar in size but the ear brands are totally different. KYLE IZMIR was clearly not identifide correctly by the I.D.Steward and the inquiry into the matter will be reconvened on Monday 19.04.10.

Race 1 Allied Work Force 0800 Labour - C2 - 305 BIGTIME ACHIEVER was mid field on the first corner but was checked losing two lengths but ran on well to finish in 4th place. EVAMORE raced in 2nd place until approaching the home straight but then appeared to suffer an injury when racing free of interferance and she dropped out to finish in last place. EVAMORE was examined by the Vet and euthanased due to suffering from a fractured hock.
Race 2 Guthrie Bowron, Wanganui - R/A - 520 MUSTARD KEEN and ASK THE BANDIT bumped together on the first corner and ASK THE BANDIT fell. GEOFF PHOENIX was unable to avoid the fallen runner and also fell and MUSTARD KEEN was also checked in the incident and lost several lengths. GEOFF PHOENIX was examined by the Vet and stood down for 10 days with cuts to fore and hind legs. ASK THE BANDIT was also examined by the Vet and stood down for 10 days with hock and muscle pain.
Race 3 Wanganui Farm Supplies - C2 - 305 STEAL IT DAN and JONES BAXTER were slow to begin and they stayed back throughout the race and finished in the last two places. FAST STASS and MISS ARKANSAS shared the lead until the home turn where they bumped together for a few strides and both lost ground which may have affected their chances of finishing closer than their 3rd and 4th places.
Race 4 Advance Pet Nutrition - C2/3 - 305 THRILLING CAM ran in sharply from box 8 and caused checks to TIPSY MAGOO, GUNNADOO DREAMS, HAILSTONE HERB, ELLABILLE ANGEL and THRILLING BASIL who all lost ground with HAILSTONE HERB and TIPSY MAGOO being the most affected and they lost several lengths and finished in the last two places. ELLIABLE ANGEL was checked by the Vet and was found to be suffering from spike wounds and a split webbing with a 14 day stand down imposed
Race 5 Crombie Lockwood (NZ) Ltd - C4/5 - 305 HERE IN SPIRIT began very awkwardly losing several lengths and he tailed the field throughout and finished in last place.
Race 6 Keenan Concrete Wanganui, 6 Pack - C4/5 - 520 BIGTIME GEM ran in from the start and caused checks to FINN'S ANGEL, YORKLEA BEAUTY and UNCLE BULLY with FINN'S ANGEL and YORKLEA BEAUTY being the most affected and they settled at the rear and stayed back to finish in the last two places.
Race 7 Mickeys Super Liquor - C4/5 - 305 DANDALOO BLUE began a little awkwardly losing two lengths. OPAWA MEGASTAR raced onto the heels of BACK DRAUGHT near the first corner and they dropped back onto DANDALOO BLUE who also lost ground and then raced wide over extra ground on the bend.
Race 8 Pedigree For Dogs - C2/3 - 520 SURFER CHICK ran in from the start and collided with LOOKS DECIEVING and they settled back in the field. CAWBOURNE WAYNE checked off the back of OPAWA GEM on the first corner and moved out causing checks to LOOKS DECIEVING and SURFER CHICK and all three dogs lost ground and they stayed back to finish in the last three places.
Race 9 Bilderbeck Construction - C4/5 - 305 POWERFUL ENEMY ran in racing to the first corner and caused checks to STAR CONQUEST, FARMOR ENFORCER, BIGTIME SURVIVOR and CAWBOURNE WHIZ who made firm contact with the rail. HUTT PARK FLYER was also affected in the incident and was forced wide into the bend. BIGTIME SURVIVOR recovered to finish in 3rd place but the other dogs affected finished in the rear group. CAWBOURNE WHIZ was examined by the Vet as a precaution and was stood down for 5 days with grazing and bruising to a hind leg.
Race 10 Broad Roofing Services - C4 - 305 UPAHUT ZORRO ran out from the start and caused checks to BIGTIME MOE and RAISINS and continued to bore out for the length of the back straight and hindered RAISINS and BIGTIME MOE during this part of the race and they lost ground and finished in 6th and 7th places.
