OKAY'S BENNY BOY moved out on the first corner and checked LANSVALE SPARK who lost ground and never recovered and finished in 6th place. |
| Race 2 | GEON Wellington Maiden Middle Distance - C0 - 457 | ELLA'S ANGEL ran in from the start and checked HEZA ROCKET MAN and BUNNY WEBSTER who was the most affected. HEZA ROCKET MAN and ELLA'S IMAGE continued to jostled together for several strides and they lost further ground and they finished in 5th and 6th places. |
| Race 3 | Delta Drainage & Water Services Sprint - C1 - 375 | THRILLING LILLI was very slow to begin losing four lengths. She then made up ground but checked off the heels of FLOYDY BOY on the first corner losing further ground and she finished in last place. |
| Race 4 | Grant Irvine Pharmacy Middle Distance - C1 - 457 | WHERE'S WALLY checked off the heels of TAILS OFF on the first corner and moved out onto CAWBOURNE SNOWY and they both covered extra ground and stayed back to finish in the last two places. |
| Race 5 | Freedom Print & Design House Sprint - C2 - 375 | CAWBOURNE SHOT was checked and lost ground on thefirst corner. THRILLING PENNY, UPAHUT STAR and CAWBOURNE SPARK collided on the bend and lost ground and HORSE POWER who was following was also checked and moved out forcing CAWBOURNE SHOT very wide on the track and he finished in 2nd last place with HORSE POWER, UPAHUT STAR and THRILLING PENNY back in the last few to finish. |
| Race 6 | Trophy Specialists & Engraving Ltd - C1 - 375 | This race started late due mostly to the fact that with stirrups being held and such a long walk to the start position, it is difficult to get the fields there on time.The Stewards have recommended that the Club dispense with stirrups in the future. The race was all clear. |
| Race 7 | Bill Boyd & Associates Sprint - C5 - 375 | BACK DRAUGHT and NATASHA'S DUFFER were both checked on the first corner and went back to the rear and stayed there to the finish. |
| Race 8 | Outback Trading Company Ltd Middle Distance - C4/5 - 457 | THRILLING ALI ran in sharply from the start and checked PINK RELTUB and BIGTIME ALL STAR with PINK RELTUB losing several lengths and she tailed the field throughout and finished in last place. |
| Race 9 | Radio Trackside 828AM Manawatu Sprint - C4 - 375 | TRIAL BAY was the quickest away from the boxes and led to the first corner but appeared to suffer an injury and dropped quickly back through the field to finish several lengths last. He was examined by the Vet and stood down for 28 days with a gracilus muscle injury. MISS AGENT suffered a laceration to a foreleg and was stood down for 14 days. |
| Race 10 | Group Racing At Awapuni Easter Saturday Middle Distance - C2/3 - 457 | SURFING AL jumped in at the start and checked THRILLING HUGO who lost ground and settled at the rear. SURFER CHICK and SURFING AL collided on the first corner and both lost ground and they finished well back. NELLY JEAN, GOSS SAGE and HOMEBUSH CHARLI came together and jostled for a few strides on the first corner but they recovered to finish 2nd 3rd and 4th. |
