| Race 1 | Allied Work Force - C2 - 305 | FAST STASS was a late scratching 5 minutes before start time when found to have a minor toe injury which possibly occurred in the kennels and she was stood down for 5 days. HORSE POWER began awkwardly losing three lengths but ran on quite well to finish in 4th place. The favourite REDDY BOY was also away a little awkwardly and then jostled with CRYSTAL SAL in the run to the first corner, moved out on the corner and forced CRYSTAL SAL out onto the line of WHAT WAYS HOME who clipped a heel and fell. He was examined by the Vet and cleared of injury. |
| Race 2 | Guthrie Bowron Wanganui - C2 - 305 | BACK AT YA drew box 2 and ran out soon after the start causing checks to ART DECO and CAWBOURNE SPARK who both lost a little ground. BACK AT YA ran out again on the first corner and went from a very handy position, back to near the rear and finished in 2nd last place. |
| Race 3 | Wanganui Farm Supplies - C2/3 - 305 | THRILLING CAM ran in racing to the first corner and checked THRILLING LEE who lost momentum for a couple of strides. TUNZA REVS checked off the heels of THRILLING CAM on the first corner and moved out and inconvenienced THRILLING LEE, CRYSTAL KATIE, TIPSY MAGOO and CAWBOURNE GREG and they never recovered and finished in the last five places. |
| Race 4 | Advance Pet Nutrition - C1 - 520 | GO BOOF went up with the box lids at the start and lost ground. MOLLY PARTON and SWEET APPEAL bumped together entering the back straight and both lost ground and they never recovered and finished at the rear. |
| Race 5 | Crombie Lockwood (NZ) Ltd - C2/3 - 305 | Tightening on the first corner resulted in checks to SWINGING ZORRO who went back to last and stayed there to the finish and also to ROBUST BOY who made contact with the rail and lost ground but recovered to finish in 4th place. ROBUST BOY was examined by the Vet as a precaution and cleared of injury. |
| Race 6 | Keenan Concrete 6 Pack - C2/3 - 520 | BLAKES ANGEL moved in running to the first corner and checked KID DELANEY who lost several lengths and he stayed back and finished in 6th place. |
| Race 7 | Pedigree For Dogs - C4 - 305 | THRILLING GRIT moved in running to the first corner and caused jostling and checks to BILLY WHIZ and GOLD FOR THYS with BILLY WHIZ being the most affected and he went back to last and finished in 6th place. GOLD FOR THYS recovered to finish in 4th place without threatening the first three home. |
| Race 8 | Mickey's Super Liquor - C4/5 - 520 | FINN'S ANGEL moved in on the first corner and checked FARMOR JAZIL and BIGTIME GEM and BIGTIME GEM then moved out slightly and this resulted in SHE ROCKS being checked and falling. BIGTIME RELOADER, RAPPER NEWEY and FATHER FIGURE who were racing further out were also checked in the incident and lost ground and finished well back. SHE ROCKS was examined by the Vet and stood down for 7 days with bruising to the neck muscles. |
| Race 9 | Broad Roofing Services - C4/5 - 305 | CAWBOURNE FELLA weighed in 1.6 kilograms underweight and the Trainer expressed concern regarding the dogs condition. The Stewards ordered that CAWBOURNE FELLA be re-examined and he was found to be dehydrated which would account for the weight loss and he was declared a late scratching. DA COOLA checked off the back of FLASH ENFORCER and lost three lengths on the bend and he finished in last place. |
| Race 10 | Bilderbeck Construction - C4/5 - 305 | BIGTIME SURVIVOR began very awkwardly losing several lengths and all chance and although he made up a lot of ground, he still finished in last place. HERE IN SPIRIT, CAWBOURNE CART and SWIFT CONQUEST bumped together soon after the start but they did not lose too much ground in the incident. SWIFT CONQUEST was checked and lost two lengths on the bend but he recovered to run on for 3rd place. |
