PURE DESIRE was examined by the Vet as a precaution and was found to have a nail injury requiring a 7 day stand down. |
| Race 2 | A.P.1 Metrology, Palmerston North Middle Distance - C0 - 457 | FLYBY EAGLE ran in from the start and checked LISA LONG LEGS who lost ground. Soon after COUGH IT UP and GLAZE collided and both lost ground and settled at the rear and stayed there to finish in the last two places. |
| Race 3 | Warehouse Stationery Ltd Sprint - C1 - 375 | MUSTARD KEEN was a little slow to begin but recovered well to finish in 2nd place. RURAL LADY and BITTA ZIP were checked back to the rear on the first corner and they stayed back to finish in the last two places. |

| Race 5 | Bushetts Fuel Distributors Ltd Sprint - C1 - 375 | One of the favourites MOLLY DARLING was awkwardly placed inside STAR TO EXCEL on the bend and had to check over that dogs heels approaching the straight entrance and in doing so lost ground and she finished in 4th place. |
| Race 6 | Thrilling Kennels Restricted Age Middle Distance Feature - R/A - 457 | The favourite BARKHAMSTED was a little slow to begin and settled back in the field but then he did make up some ground to finish in 4th place without threatening the first three runners home. BARKHAMSTED moved out in the back straight and bumped OKAY'S DERMATOFF onto CAWBOURNE TEXAS and they both lost ground. BENGINEER led around the bend but then bumped with the eventual winner MATANUSKA on the home turn as that runner improved on the outside and BENGINEER appeared to be the most affected in the incident and he lost momentum and finished in 3rd place. |
| Race 7 | GAP Adpopt A Greyhound Sprint - C1 - 375 | CAWBOURNE MADZ was awkwardly placed between runners in the back straight and settled back in the field. CAWBOURNE MADZ was then checked on the bend when YOUR ALL DONE moved out slightly and she was then jostled soon after when making contact with ANOTHER SAGE and dropped back to finish in last place. |
| Race 8 | W&E Cavanagh Ltd Sprint - C1 - 375 | MAGNIFICENT and BRUTUS FINALE were in the leading group approaching the home turn and bumped together for several strides and MAGNIFICENT then dropped back to finish in last place. BRUTUS FINALE recovered from the incident and finished in 4th place. HORSE POWER was one of the slowest to begin but then improved quickly out wide on the home turn and went on to win the race. |
| Race 9 | Oroua Downs Tannery Middle Distance - C1 - 457 | SURFING AL and FLOYDY BOY ran in from the start and tightened SPEEDILICIOUS who settled well back and stayed there to finish in 7th place. |
| Race 10 | Radio Trackside 828am Manawatu Sprint - C2 - 375 | HOMEBUSH MARLON checked off the heels of OHAU WILLEE on the first corner losing three lengths and he never recovered and finished in last place. |
