| Race 1 | Allied Work Force 0800 Labour - C0 - 305 | ALWAYS A PIRATE galloped on the back of DUBLIN BAY on the first corner and almost fell and both dogs lost several lengths and finished in the last two places. DUBLIN BAY did not appear to be striding out correctly after the incident and finished several lengths behind the 2nd last dog. She was examined by the Vet and was found to have sustained a small laceration on a hind leg but no stand down was required. |
| Race 2 | Mickey's Super Liquor - C0 - 520 | SURF SUNSET and GISELLE QUEEN were slow to begin. Soon after the start CAWBOURNE ROD and SURFER CHICK collided and lost ground. On the first corner SURF SUNSET moved out momentarily and caused checks to OKAY'S BENNY BOY, SURFER CHICK and ELEMENO PEA with the last mentioned runner being forced very wide. Soon after SURFER CHICK moved back in and caused a severe check to GISELLE QUEEN who lost several lengths and she finished a long last. |
| Race 3 | Guthrie Bowron, Wanganui - C0 - 305 | POLKA DOT ran in from the start and bumped DOING THE TIME onto HOMEBUSH WHITEY and all three lost ground in the incident, settled at the rear and stayed back to finish in the rear group. |
| Race 4 | Wanganui Farm Supplies - C1 - 520 | SECRET TRACEY was checked entering the back straight and dropped back onto BLACK DELORIAN and they both lost ground and stayed back to finish in the rear group. MORE PORK raced up handy during the early and middle stages but began to fade on the final bend and he finished in 2nd last place. |
| Race 5 | Geon Wellington - C1 - 305 | The favourite MAGIC ELLA was slow to begin and lost three lengths. SCOTT NO FUNDING and HAGLER jostled together soon after the start and lost a little momentum. On the first turn MAGIC ELLA moved out and caused a slight check to HAGLER and continued out and galloped on the back of SCOTT NO FUNDING who was badly checked and fell. RHYANA REASON was also severely checked in the incident and together with MAGIC ELLA and SCOTT NO FUNDING, was examined by the Vet. MAGIC ELLA suffered a fractured metacarpal and RHYANA REASON suffered a fractured hock and both were euthanased on humane grounds. SCOTT NO FUNDING suffered from a wrist injury and was stood down for 14 days. |
| Race 6 | Kennan Concrete 6 Pack - C1 - 520 | COMET PRINCESS was last away from the boxes and drifted off the back of the field to be several lengths last in the back straight but made up a lot of ground over the final stages to be not far behind the other runners in 2nd last place at the finish. BLACK IS BACK checked over the heels of OPAWA GEM on the first turn and ran a little wide on the bend. THRILLING CHASE ran even wider on the first bend over extra ground and he stayed back to finish in last place. |
| Race 7 | Morrie Gibbons Signs - C1 - 305 | BIGTIME MOE and SINBINED collided in the run to the first corner and then SINBINED moved in and tightened IRISH ENFORCER and THRILLING TASHA and all three lost ground and stayed back to finish in the last three places. |
| Race 8 | Gary Ross Decorator - C1 - 520 | HOTWAX led coming towards the home turn with SURFING AL improving through on the inside when they made contact and lost ground. HOTWAX recovered to finish in 3rd place but SURFING AL dropped back to finish in 7th place. Because of the angle of the video cameras, it could not be conclusively established what caused the incident and whether there was movement from one or both dogs. |
| Race 9 | Broad Roofing Services - C1 - 305 | MADAM KEISHA ran very wide on the bend over extra ground and she finnished in last place. |
| Race 10 | WWW.wanganuicarcentre.com - C1 - 305 | APACHE MACK and THRILLING LILLI were slow to begin and settled at the rear. APACHE MACK then ran wide into the bend and forced THRILLING LILLI very wide and as she moved back in, she collided with UPAHUT CRYSTAL and both dogs lost momentum. STUMPY RELTUB ran wide into the straight and forced HOMEBUSH KELLY out wide and they finished the race out towards the outside fence. |
