Judicial report: Race one was started over two minutes later than the advertized time due to the grooming machinary still being used on the track as the runners were attempting to make their way to the start. The Stewards cancelled stirrups for the remainder of the day and requested that the Club address the matter of grooming and watering the track during meetings as the present situation is unacceptable and is impacting on the start times for races and has resulted in some stirrups at recent meetings being abandoned.

Race 1	Ray Huntley Cup Heats - C0q - 375 Heat 1	BLACK SAVOY and LOST FRIENDS were checked back to the rear soon after the start. BLACK SAVOY recovered to go on and win but LOST FRIENDS stayed back and finished in last place. NAKI GIRL ran wide on the bend and forced OKAY'S BENNY BOY over extra ground but he then finished well for 4th place.
Race 2	Ray Huntley Cup Heats - C0q - 375 Heat 2	SINGLE SCULLER and BERN'S BUNNY were checked and lost a little ground on the first corner. One of the favourites PIN UP PUPPY was handy racing into the first corner but was checked losing several lengths but he finished on well for 4th place.
Race 3	Ray Huntley Cup Heats - C0q - 375 Heat 3	SCAMPER CLAIR checked off the back of BUNNY WEBSTER on the first corner and soon after NAKI ROCKET moved out and bumped SCAMPER CLAIR who lost ground on both occasions and she finished in 6th place.
Race 4	Charlie Boyce, Foxton Vet Sprint - C1 - 375	The favourite MAGIC ELLA was slow to begin but made up some ground for 4th place. WAITOTARA RED settled back but was making up ground on the bend when RUN BROADY RUN moved out and forced WAITOTARA RED and THRILLIING GABBY very wide over extra ground and they finished in the last three places.
Race 5	Burlace & Pain, Panelbeaters Sprint - C1 - 375	One of the favourites SALLY BAXTER was a little slow to begin but was improving on the bend when she was checked and she finished in last place.
Race 6	Manawatu Sound Service MIddle Distance - C1 - 457	KNIGHT INVADER was one of the quickest away from the boxes but faded quickly back through the field from the first corner and finished several lengths last. He was examined by the Vet and stood down for 10 days witth a quadricep injury.
Race 7	Peter Sinclair Photos Sprint - C2 - 375	OHAU WILLEE checked off the heels of HOMEBUSH JUST on the first corner and moved out causing slight checks to NEW MONIA and LAW'S HILL. OHAU WILLEE lost several lengths in the incident and finished in last place and he was examined by the Vet as a precaution and stood down for 10 days with a pectoral muscle injury.

Race 9	Radio Trackside 828AM Manawatu Six-Pack Sprint - C5 - 375	One of the favourites ANOTHER NICK began well enough from box 1 but was awkwardly placed adjacent to the rail on the first corner and lost four lengths at that point and any chance of a first four placing and he finished in 5th place.
Race 10	Outback Trading Company Ltd Middle Distance - C2 - 457	BOTANY TOM who has been on the box first list had this permission removed as it clearly has not been a problem in this regard over recent starts. BOTANY TOM and THRILLING RUST jostled together in the run to the first corner and then moved out causing checks to ARCTIC DREAM and BIGTIME ALLSTAR who lost several lengths and they finished well back. HOMEBUSH CHARLI was in 2nd place but tiring a few metres from the finish line when he was galloped on by KIWISAVER and lost several lengths and finished in 2nd last place.
