Incident Reports

Race Number Race Name Incident Report
Race 1 Quality Presentations Ltd Sprint - C2 - 375 THRILLING BASH was a late scratching 19 minutes after the official scratching time and the Trainer K.Walsh reported that she had tried several times to advise the Club of the scratching but due to lack of cell phone coverage while travelling south, she was unable to get through to the Club and the explanation was accepted on this ocassion. However, she was advised that in future she should phone earlier in the morning and leave a message if neccesary. The T.A.B allowed the 2nd reserve WINNER SCHNITZEL to enter the field but by the time the Trainer was notified, the dog had already been worked and so it remained as a scratching. BIGTIME BOMBER ran in from the start and caused a check to MACAU who lost a little ground. DRIVING FORWARD was checked on the first corner and dropped back causing checks to SMART SHARMILA and BOTANY HORNET and they lost several lengths and finished in the last three places.
Race 2 Delta Drainage & Water Services - C2/3 - 375 BILLY MA'S TIP was checked soon after the start when there was inward movement from dogs drawn further out and he settled back but made up ground for 3rd placing. Race 3 Bill Boyd & Associates Middle Distance - C2q - 457 Heat 1 COVELLE tended to move away from the rail on the first corner and this caused a slight check to CAWBOURNE OPAL who lost a little ground but she recovered to finish in 3rd place.
Race 4 Bill Boyd & Associates Middle Distance - C2q - 457 Heat 2 One of the favourites THRILLING BLAST began awkwardly losing four lengths but showed speed to be in 2nd place on the first corner. He then made firm contact with the rail losing momentum but stayed handy until the final few strides and finished 4th of the five runners. He was examined by the Vet as a precaution and cleared of injury. CAWBOURNE SPEED was a late scratching shortly before start time when the dog was found to have a toe injury when removed from the kennels and he was stood down for 14 days.
