| Race 2 | Bilderbeck Construction Ltd - C0f - 520 | Tightening on the first corner resulted in severe checks to LIVELY SPIRIT, AMELLIA ELECTRA, TINY TITCH, HOMEBUSH WARRIOR and RIDDLE BOY with RIDDLE BOY falling in the incident and he was examined by the vet and cleared of injury. The other runners lost varying amounts of ground and AMELLIA ELECTRA was also examined by the Vet and stood down for 10 days with pulled muscles in the dorsal area. |
| Race 3 | Broad Roofing Services - C0 - 305 | LISA LONG LEGS and ITERU KEFA were both very slow to begin losing several lengths and they stayed well back to finish in the rear group. SINGLE SCULLER rolled out on the bend and jostled HEY GHANDI for a few strides and HEY GHANDI lost ground and finished well back in 7th place. |
| Race 4 | Mickey's Super Liquor - C1 - 520 | Soon after the start, OKAY'S VERA DEE rolled in and hindered BLACK IS BACK for several strides. With a circuit to run MADAM KEISHA moved out and checked RUN BROADY RUN who went back to the rear and WANDY KYLE was also affected and lost ground but recovered to win the race. |
| Race 5 | Morrie Gibbons Signs - C1 - 305 | BIGTIME BOMBER moved in racing to the first corner and checked ASH VEGAS who went back to last and she stayed well back to finish in 6th place. TUKURUA ZAC, RHYANA REASON and THRILLING IRIS were checked and lost ground on the first corner. TUKURUA ZAC recovered to finish in 3rd place with the other two finishing towards the rear. |
| Race 6 | Keenan Concrete, 6 Pack - C1 - 520 | OKAY'S DE BRITTO was the slowest away and was in last place with a circuit to run but secured a clear rails run and went on to win the race. THRILLING JOSH and TAILS OFF bumped together twice on the first corner and went back to the rear and they stayed there to the finish. |
| Race 7 | www.wanganuicarcentre.com - C1 - 305 | LEFT JAB was up 2.8 kilograms on its last start weight and the Trainer advised that this was intentional as he felt that recent weights had been too light. The dog was cleared fit to run by the Vet. One of the favourites NEW MONIA collided with THRILLING BASIL soon after the start, again in the run to the first corner and again entering the home straight and they lost ground as a result and finished in 5th and 6th places. |
| Race 8 | Gary Ross Decorator - C1 - 520 | ZETA JONES was a Club scratching after being inadvertantly entered in a 520 metre race instead of a 305 metre race. COVELLE and HIDDEN ANGEL were slow to begin losing two or three lengths. COVELLE went forward quickly to be handy on the first corner but was checked when MISTER WHISKER checked off the heels of BLACK OCTANE and moved out and bumped him but he recovered quickly to go on and win with ease. COMET PRINCESS ran very wide on the first bend over extra ground but then finished well for 3rd place. |
| Race 9 | Guthrie Bowron, Wanganui - C1 - 305 | ROBUST BOY ran in from the start and checked THRILLING RAY who went back to last and he stayed well back to finish in 2nd last place. The 2nd placed dog STUMPY RELTUB led from the start but ran very wide in the approach to and entering the home straight and this may have cost her the difference between winning and finishing in 2nd place. |
| Race 10 | Harrison Hire Master - C1 - 305 | FOUR ONE CHARLIE and BIGTIME MOE collided when jumping from the boxes and BIGTIME MOE stumbled and ran in and made contact with THRILLING LARK and they jostled for several strides in the run to the first corner. They both lost ground and stayed back to finish in the rear group. LAURIE'S BEST was handy most of the race but ran out on the home turn and forced BACK AT YA and FOUR ONE CHARLIE very wide into the straight over extra ground. |
