| Race 1 | Allied Work Force - C1 - 305 | PEACE ICON ran out soon after the start and forced CAWBOURNE RYE and CAWBOURNE MADGE to race wide over extra ground and this would have affected their chances of finishing in closer placings. |
| Race 2 | Bilderbeck Construction - C2 - 305 | The favourite BILLY WHIZ began very awkwardly losing several lengths but then made up ground very well for 4th placing. SALLY BAXTER was tightened between runners on the first corner and went completely off stride and she dropped out to finish several lengths last. She was examined by the Vet and stood down for 28 days with a broken tail. STUMPY RELTUB checked off heels on the home turn and moved out causing a check to RED TERROR and they finished in the rear group. |
| Race 3 | Broad Roofing Services - C1 - 520 | MUSTARD KEEN was slow to begin and was then checked and pushed wide on the first bend when TAILS OFF and TINY PRANCER moved out on the first corner. MUSTARD KEEN stayed well back to finish in 2nd last place. |
| Race 4 | Guthrie Bowron - C3 - 305 | CAP FANTASTIC was checked on the bend and dropped back onto BAILEYS DREAM and they never recovered and finished at the rear. |
| Race 5 | Wanganui Security - C3f - 305 | The favourite KYLE IZMIR was slow to begin but recovered well to finish iin 2nd place. ARTEMIS LADY was checked on the first corner and dropped back onto AWESOME VINTAGE and BIGTIME FORCE and all three lost ground. ARTEMIS LADY did make up ground to finish in 4th place. BACK DRAUGHT and CAWBOURNE DORE collided on the home turn and lost ground with CAWBOURNE DORE being the most affected and he finished in last place. |
| Race 6 | Keenan Concrete 6 Pack - C4/5 - 305 | SET IN STONE was observed to be lame when walking to the start and was examined by the Vet and declared a late scratching. The lameness was diagnosed as being a form of nerve paralysis and a 5 day stand down was imposed. CIRALDO was slow to begin but recovered to gain a rails run and go on and win the race. HERE IN SPIRIT moved out soon after the start and checked NATASHA'S DUFFER who lost three lengths. PIZZA GIRL, who had been pressured from the outside, moved out on the first corner and this resulted in checks to HERE IN SPIRIT and CAWBOURNE FELLA who lost several lengths and they finished in the last two places. |
| Race 7 | Mickey's Super Liquor - C2/3 - 520 | FINN'S ANGEL ran in from the start and made contact with STARFIRE BOY and lost momentum for a few strides. Soon after, HOMEBUSH NICK checked over the heels of FINN'S ANGEL and ran in and made firm contact with the rail and he stayed back throughout to finish in last place. He was examined by the Vet as a precaution and cleared of injury. |
| Race 8 | Harrison Hiremaster - C4/5 - 520 | SIROCCO HERO was awkward in its galloping action from early on in the race and he dropped out to finish a long last and was examined by the Vet and stood down for 28 days with a gracilus muscle injury. The winner FATHER FIGURE was lame following the race and was also examined by the Vet and stood down for 5 days with a stopper pad injury. |
| Race 9 | Crombie Lockwood (NZ) Ltd - C4/5 - 305 | HIFI ALLEGRO and CAWBOURNE CROWN were both slow to begin and they stayed back to finish in the rear group. |
| Race 10 | Media Works - C4 - 305 | The two favourites RAISINS and ROUGH ENFORCER both had very interrupted runs going to the first corner and they lost ground and stayed back to finish in the last two places. RAISINS was examined by the Vet and stood down for 28 days with a gracilus muscle injury. |
