Race 1 ADVANCE PET NUTRITION SPRINT - C1 - 295 Both HANSOME HARRY and SPIN A TITLE were slow to begin. Racing into the first bend JULINSKY ran in causing minor interference to HANNAH BRAND and SPIN A TITLE.
Race 2 CHALLENGE OPAWA ALL UP DASH - C0 - 295 SLIGHTLY AMAZED was the slowest to begin. On the first bend GO BOOF got onto the heels of SLIGHTLY AMAZED and then as the field raced into the home straight GO BOOF got onto the heels of HOMEBUSH JONAH.
Race 3 www.duvauchellehotelmotel.co.nz STAKES - C1 - 520 BOTANY TOM was slow away.
Race 4 FLAIR MAIDEN HEAT 1 - C0q - 520 Heat 1 GENTLE HAND appeared to hit the running rail on at least two occasions. As a precaution GENTLE HAND was subjected to a veterinary inspection which revealed no abnormalities.
Race 5 FLAIR MAIDEN HEAT 2 - C0q - 520 Heat 2 LOVELY HAND was very slow to begin. On the first bend HOMEBUSH WIGGLE drifted out forcing SILAS MARNER and OPAWA PATTY over extra ground. As the field entered the back straight HOMEBUSH WIGGLE received a check from OPAWA PATTY which inconvenienced MOST HAUNTED and NORWOOD JEWEL.
Race 6 FLAIR MAIDEN HEAT 3 - C0q - 520 Heat 3 Racing into the first bend FRITO BANDITO was squeezed between MOANING MOANY and KAIAPOI JOE and fell. FRITO BANDITO then regained his feet and raced back towards the field. Quick actions by both the starter (R. Lowry) and the lure driver (P. Knowles) saw the lure pulled up with approximately 100 metres to run. This race was declared abandoned. FRITO BANDITO was subjected to a veterinary inspection which revealed no abnormalities. As this race was the third heat for a maiden final Rule 76.7 was invoked. The Chief Executive took account of the Stipendiary Stewards comments and made the first and second dogs at the time of the incident (ALBIE'S LAD and HOMEBUSH OSO) qualifiers for the final.
Race 7 FLAIR MAIDEN HEAT 4 - C0q - 520 Heat 4 FUNTASTIC BOY was slow to begin. FUNTASTIC BOY then attempted to make ground and clipped TOYA at the winning post on the first occasion and fell. On the first bend OPAWA BROOKE got onto the heels of HOMEBUSH WHITEY with both of these dogs running wide and losing ground. FUNTASTIC BOY was subjected to a veterinary inspection which revealed no abnormalities.
Race 8 SHIRLEY T.A.B. SPRINT - C1 - 295 POCKETS FULL was slow to begin. On the first bend ROYAL ADONIS dragged CAWBOURNE HANDS down from behind. A veterinary inspection was carried out on CAWBOURNE HANDS which revealed no abnormalities. On the point of the turn POCKETS FULL attempted to rush through a gap where there was insufficient room and bumped GENISTA BELLE with both of these dogs losing ground.
Race 9 ANGLERS ARMS SPRINT - C0 - 295 HOMEBUSH JUST was squeezed between COOL'S THE TUNE and BREAKING BOND when handy and dropped back sharply.
Race 10 WILSON'S SPORTS BAR & T.A.B. DASH - C0 - 295 All Clear.
Race 11 TUESDAY PLACE PICK DASH - C1 - 295 All Clear.
Race 12 HAMPDEN TAVERN STAKES - C1 - 520 Into the first bend REDBANK RUBY was tightened between OZARK'S MASK and MEANDER. REDBANK RUBY was then checked by OZARK'S MASK again on the point of the turn and failed to recover from this interference and finished last. In attempting to get to the rail BOTANY HORNET caused checks to both INDIANA GIRL and MEANDER.
Race 13 ACTIVE ELECTRICAL CHRISTCHURCH SPRINT - C1 - 295 Racing into the first bend BY GORRIE DORRIE attempted to move away from the rail tightening MISS WICKLOW and MAX FORCE.
Race 14 CGRC MEMBERS NIGHT 24/9/09 DASH - C1 - 295 As the field reached the first bend ASTRO DAVE was squeezed between COT CASE CUTIE and THRILLING BECKY with ASTRO DAVE being shunted to the back of the field.
Race 15 $30,000 PICK 6 LEG 1 - C1 - 520 MARKY BLUE was slow to jump losing three lengths.
Race 16 CHALLENGE WAIMAK SPRINT - C1 - 295 Into the first bend COLERIDGE KID attempted to clear the heels of MOVE OVER DALE and caused a check to WORDS OF WISDOM. MOMENT was involved in a colision at the lure and as a precaution was subjected to a veterinary inspection.
Race 17 TRACKSIDE DINING NZ CUP NIGHT (03) 338-6145 DASH - C1 - 295 All clear.
Race 18 WATERLOO CUP HEAT - C5 - 520 SENSITIVE HARRY was slow away. TRICKY SHELLY tightened CYBER BLUE as the field raced into the first bend. KENDALE BALE which was handy early shortened stride as they entered the back straight and finished a distant last. A post race veterinary check was carried out on KENDALE BALE that revealed a torn gracilus with a 28 day stand down being imposed.
Race 19 SPEIGHT'S SIX PACK - C1 - 520 HOMEBUSH SHEDAN shouldered BIBI DAHL around the first bend when vying for the lead. Racing into the first bend NOT SUITED was crossed by SECRET CHLOE and lost momentum.
Race 20 BE BACK THURSDAY NIGHT STAKES - C2 - 520 MIRAGE ROYAL hit SAFARI STORM from behind racing into the first bend and soon after ALLEGRINI checked MIRAGE ROYAL.
