Incident Reports
Race Number | Race Name | Incident Report |
---|---|---|
Race 1 | Thornton Auctions Sprint - C3 - 318 | THRILLING FORCE was a shade slow and remained well back. The favourite and winner LADY HEATHER checked outwards off runners into the bend but once in the clear ran away to win well. |
Race 2 | Meadowset Graphics Stakes - C1 - 527 | TEE KAY GIRL and THRILLING BUSTA from the outside boxes crossed the field in the run to the first bend tightening SANTO GOLD and PROUD DAVE with the latter being badly checked. He finished some way from the winner with a post race veterinary check revealing fractured metacarpals with a forty two day stand down recommended. SANTO GOLD also lost ground when checking off the back of KARATA ROAD in the entrance to the back straight. |
Race 3 | Jack's Wholesale Meats Sprint - C2 - 318 | THRILLING VIRUS and REVELRY were both tightened into the bend with THRILLING DOLL being pushed wide and losing ground. |
Race 4 | Terry Ryan Timber Sprint - C5 - 318 | LOCHINVAR POLO and FLYING CHAMELEON came together after fifty metres with FLYING CHAMELEON losing ground. Soon after LOCHINVAR POLO ran inwards checking WINSOME NOVA with FLYING CHAMELEON being held up for room at this stage. Into the bend LOCHINVAR POLO found more trouble when checking off KERRIE'S FANTASY wide out with ANOTHER JENNY being forced over extra ground. LOCHINVAR POLO was checked over by the veterinarian after the race and was found to have hypoxia. A six day stand down was recommended together with a thorough physical examination. |
Race 5 | $15,000 Pick6 Stakes - C1 - 527 | Permission was given for PRINCE MARCIANO to race with blinkers as this dog had trialled satisfactorily with them at Cambridge on 12 October. Permission was given for WINSOME SKY to box with the field after previously being boxed first. However the dog again proved very difficult to box away and in future will be boxed first. WINSOME SKY was slow to jump. PRINCE MARCIANO was observed to ease around the top bend and in the home straight turned its head outwards losing ground. The dog was charged under Rule 80.1.b with failing a pursue the lure. A post race veterinary check revealed no injury and as this was the dog's second offence under Rule 80 he was stood down for three months and ordered to undertake a satisfactory trial. |
Race 6 | Carol's TABs Sprint - C3/4 - 318 | ARCTIC ROMEO ran outwards in the approach to the bend tightening LAURETANA BOY, BEACH STREET and BOLSTAD with CYCLONE PRESTO receiving a check in behind these runners and losing ground. |
Race 7 | The Alamo Bar & TAB Stakes - C2 - 527 | MADDER THAN was squeezed soon after the jump and settled back. Into the first bend TONY CAN'T GO was tightened and ran outwards coming together with MOONSHINE LASS, MADDER THAN and THRILLING CATCH with THRILLING LEWIS also being impeded on their inside. These dogs lost all real chance as a result of this incident. |
Race 8 | New Zealand Racing Series Final - NZRSf - 527 | RASMAH was tightened and hit the rail on the first bend with severe checks caused to TEE SHIRT and WILL SHE ECHO as a result. RASMAH was then again tightened by THRILLING WOLF into the back straight. On the home turn RASMAH tried to barge his way out from a pocket in behind HARAJUKU BOY and made contact with VIREYA with both dogs losing momentum. A post race veterinary check of RASMAH revealed no injury. |
Race 9 | Pacific Sheet & Coil (NZ) Stakes - C4/5 - 527 | SHOWTIME LEO and STICKY BOY who had been slow to jump collided around the first bend with STICKY BOY losing ground. Soon after SHE'S TOO COOL was tightened between runners and lost ground. |
Race 10 | The Brownzy Sports Bar Sprint Final - C1f - 318 | THRILLING WEB checked outwards sharply off LUCK NOW KID into the turn and took JELLYSTONE PARK and DUSTY MISTRESS with him with these runners losing all chance. The pacemaker PRINCESS SNOWY ran very wide into the home turn losing ground. |
