Judicial report: TUI THUNDER, an entrant in race 5 was 1.7 kilograms over its last race weight. However, no penalty was imposed as the scales were not giving a consistant reading and the Club have given an assurance that they will be thoroughly checked before the next meeting.

STAR SEEKER was checked on the first corner losing ground and she stayed back to finish in 2nd last place. CAWBOURNE SHORTY ran very wide over extra ground on the bend and into the straight and finished in last place. |
Race 5 | Oroua Downs Tannery - C1 - 375 | FANCY FREDA was the slowest to begin and then checked off the heels of TUI THUNDER on the first turn losing further ground and she stayed back to finish in 2nd last place. |
Race 6 | Outback Trading Company Ltd - C1 - 457 | PRETTY SECRET and WIZARD APPEAL shared the lead but collided on the first corner and lost several lengths and all chance with PRETTY SECRET being the most affected in the incident. COMET PRINCESS checked over the heels of BIGTIME MILLY approaching the home straight and moved out sharply and made firm contact with SAMBO WARRIOR and they lost ground and finished in the last two places. |
Race 7 | Thrilling Kennels Sprint - C5 - 375 | ADDIS JAY was one of the slowest away and raced well back but angled out on the home turn and finished well for 4th place. CHARTERIS BAY also raced well back in last place and then fell after crossing the finish line. He was examined by the Vet and stood down for 10 days with a pectoral muscle injury. |
Race 8 | Bill Boyd & Associates - C4 - 375 | Two of the better supported runners CALYPSO RUMBLE and WHATA BOWLA were a little slow away and then jostled together for a few strides in the run to the first corner. They then raced wide on the bend and stayed back to finish in the last two places. |
Race 9 | Radio Trackside 828AM Manawatu Six-Pack - C3 - 375 | BIGTIME SCAR was tightened and checked soon after the start losing several lengths and she never recovered and finished in last place. SMART SHARMILA was handy starting on the bend but was checked and went back onto CAWBOURNE GREG and they lost ground and all chance of a placing. |
Race 10 | Gramt Irvine Pharmacy - C2 - 375 | STUMPY RELTUB jumped on terms with the other runners but was checked soon after losing several lengths and she then ran wide over extra ground on the bend and finished in last place. |
