| Race 1 | Allied Workforce 0800 Labour Sprint Heat 1 - C2q - 305 Heat 1 | WONGAWILLISTEVE was away well but was checked in the run to the first turn and went back to last. He then made up ground well to finish in 4th place. BIGTIME BAND was disputing the lead on the bend but was then checked losing four to five lengths and she then ran wide into the straight over extra ground and finished in 2nd last place |
| Race 2 | Bilderbeck Construction - C1 - 520 | One of the better supported runners TAILS OFF was bumped and lost a little ground in the run to the first corner and he was checked again starting on the final bend. TAILS OFF then became awkwardly placed inside LISA SHIRAZ on the final bend and down the home straight and dropped back to finish in last place. |
| Race 3 | Broad Roofing Sprint Heat 2 - C2q - 305 Heat 2 | ROTOVEGAS GIRL ran in from the start and caused checks to SCOTT NO WIVES, BIGTIME SLAMMER, THRILLING TURK and MACAU who all lost ground but SCOTT NO WIVES recovered best of all to win the race. MANLY MAGIC was in 2nd place on the first corner but was checked when he moved out from the rail and he dropped back causing checks to MACAU and THRILLING TURK and they never recovered and finished in the last three places. |
| Race 4 | Wanganui Security Services - C2 - 520 | STARFIRE BOY and CYCLONE TRAVIS collided on the first corner and lost momentum and they ran a little wide on the first bend. STARFIRE BOY recovered to win the race with ease. GONE ZILLA was checked and lost ground entering the back straight but also recovered well to finish in 2nd place. |
| Race 5 | Guthrie Bowron, Wanganui - C2/3 - 305 | JAMES BEE was a little slow to begin and then ran out wide on the track covering extra ground on the bend and he finished in last place. |
| Race 6 | Keenan Concrete Services 6 Pack - C2/3 - 520 | RED TERROR was tightened and checked when racing between FARMOR JAZIL and BLAKE'S ANGEL on the first corner and she went back onto LAGOON BABE who was forced out onto LITTLE MOTHER. They both went very wide on the bend and lost several lengths but LITTLE MOTHER recovered to make up a huge amount of ground to finish in 3rd place. RED TERROR and LAGOON BABE stayed back to finish in the last two places. |
| Race 7 | Mickey's Super Liquor - C4 - 305 | AUSTIN whose two most recent runs have resulted in two eighth placings was again not able to keep up with pace and finished several lengths last. He was examined and appeared to be in normal post race condition. |
| Race 8 | Harrisons Hire Master - C4/5 - 520 | BIGTIME GEM moved in racing to the first corner and checked RAPPER NEWY and ALFA DANCER who both lost a little ground. ALFA DANCER checked off the heels of the leader SHE ROCKS on the final bend and dropped back and was galloped on by BIGTIME GEM and they both fell. SERIOUS CHARGE and RAPPER NEWY were both severely hindered in the incident and were pushed wide out on the track and finished at the rear. BIGTIME GEM and ALFA DANCER were examined by the Vet and ALFA DANCER was stood down for 5 days with multiple abrasions while BIGTIME GEM was stood down for 14 days with a webbing injury. |
| Race 9 | Crombie Lockwood (nz) Ltd - C4/5 - 305 | ADDIS SUNSET and JILL BAXTER were checked when starting on the bend and again part way around the bend and they lost ground and finished in the last two places. One of the favourites`WONGANWILLINEV was the slowest away and raced at the rear in the early part of the race but made up some ground in the straight to finish in 5th place. |
| Race 10 | Media Works - C4/5 - 305 | CAPTAIN BOYCOTT proved difficult to load into the boxes and held up the start. He was then the slowest away and raced wide to the first corner and stayed back to finish in last place. |
