Judicial report: KAMACO was permitted to start in Race 6 under Rule 82.5. The dog had been stood down at Manukau on 23 August but checked by veterinarian Stephen McGill in front of a Stipendiary Steward with no injury being found.

An inquiry was opened and adjourned pending further investigations by Stewards under Rule 111 into the nomination of LARRISSA LYN.

Race 1 The Dogs.co.nz Sprint - C0 - 318 SALLY GALLY was difficult to box prior to this event. This dog will be boxed fitst for future races. THRILLING BLAST was the last to jump. Soon after the jump IN TENT ran outwards and collided with TRICKY PAULA. CREATIVE FASHION received a slight check on the home turn and dropped away. Trainer RP O'Regan advised that this dog would be retired from racing.
Race 2 ownagreyhound.co.nz Stakes - C0 - 527 MISS VIP was last to jump. Favourite SWEET APPEAL was tightened into the first bend and lost ground. She ran on fairly for fifth.
Race 3 Rodewald Hart Brown Sprint - C1 - 318 THRILLING MIX came up with the lids losing a lot of ground and settling last. Just prior to the bend FREIGHT SHAKER was tightened and then badly dragged down by MEDIA MOGUL with these dogs and SOULJAH BOY dropping to the rear. A post race veterinary check of FREGHT SHAKER revealed left supraspinatus injury and staples to the left stifle with a fourteen day stand down recommended.
Race 4 Lectro Hair & Beauty Sprint - C1 - 318 Favourite CYCLADES was slow to jump settling last. He ran wide when attempting to improve around the home bend and battled into fifth placing. LARISSA LYN was tightened into the bend and dropped away to finish last. A post race veterinary check revealed no injury.
Race 5 The Brownzy Sports Bar Sprint - C0 - 318 FLYBY EAGLE checked outwards off THRILLING ROBYN into the bend losing momentum.
Race 6 Carol's TABs Sprint - C1 - 318 THRILLING CAM came together with BARALLEN at the end of the back straight losing ground. Shortly after this CAWBOURNE MELODY ran inwards and clipped the rail losing ground. A post race veterinary check of CAWBOURNE MELODY revealed a gracilis tear with a six week stand down imposed. MISTY VELVET dropped away prior to the home turn and finished last with a post race veterinary check revealing no injury. Trainer Mrs D Smith advised that the dog would be given a brief spell before its next race.
Race 7 Sister Cities Cup Here 27/9 Sprint - C2/3 - 318 CREATIVE DREAM sped to the lead after being a stride slow but ran a touch wide into the bend losing some ground. She was also clipped by CYCLONE HOOLEY on the home turn and battled to be fifth at the line. A post race veterinary check of CREATIVE DREAM revealed no injury.
Race 8 Deli's Sports Bar Sprint - C1 - 318 LUCK NOW JENNI was badly tightened soon after the jump dropping to the rear. Into the bend STAR TO EXCEL and SERGEANT SCREAM came together with both dogs losing ground.
Race 9 Jack's Wholesale Meats Stakes - C1 - 527 SUB CLASS and THRILLING LEWIS came together soon after the jump. Wider out THRILLING BRIT ran out slightly checking SPINNING COMET on to SUZIE THE FLUZY with these dogs settling towards the rear.
Race 10 The Alamo Bar & TAB Sprint - C1 - 318 Favourite THRILLING GRIN was the last to begin but recovered well to win an eventful race. LAURIE'S BEST looked to run outwards into the bend and contacted the legs of THRILLING SHADZ who fell. HOMEBUSH TUI, WINSOME BOND and HALSTROM BALE were also badly checked at this stage. The faller THRILLING SHADZ then cut across the inside of the track and jumped the inside rail after the rest of the field had passed. LAURIE'S BEST then came together with HOMEBUSH TUI on the home turn when these dogs were a long way from the leaders with LAURIE'S BEST appearing to turn his head for a stride. After viewing the video, taking the circumstances of the race into account and discussions with Trainer G. Calverley LAURIE'S BEST was ordered to undertake a satisfactory trial before next racing. Post race checks of LAURIE'S BEST revealed no injury but THRILLING SHADZ had muscle injuries with a ten day stand down recommended.
